An uplifting book

Just listening to this book was an uplifting experience. I loved listening to this for inspirational ideas but I feel it would be helpful to have a paper copy as well for easy reference. For those who may be slightly wary of the word ‘witch’ being included in the title- there is nothing to be afraid of- this is a wholesome book which gives you recipes for visualisations, rituals, affirmations, food, herbal teas, bath bombs and scrubs, aromatherapy blends etc. to help you feel more nurtured. Nothing in this book is way out there or inaccessible to a regular person.

Enjoyable but hard to follow

I really enjoyed the first few chapters I listened to but was hard to follow all the tutorials without a hard copy in front of me to keep referring to, debating sending this title back and buying a paper copy instead

good to read not to listen

struggled to make the most of this book with no paper copy as this is a guide to make things for your well-being and isn't easy to catch up on all the ingredients or process with just a voice guide and not a list to refer to.

A spiritual spa day for a witch's soul

I love this book! I read it in eBook format from my library, then bought in in hardback and the Audible book. That's how much I liked it. The Witch's Book of Self-Care combines spiritual intention and centering with affordable home based self-care.

Gabra Zackman has a soothing, precise cadence that makes Arin Murphy-Hiscock's material shine. I've now purchased all of the author's titles that are available on Audible. I highly recommend this to any witch in need of relaxation, and with a love of nonfiction audio!

Personal note to Audible: Please commission Gabra Zackman to record Murphy-Hiscock's other books! I'd love to listen to "Protection Spells" and "Out of the Broom Closet." I'd purchase them in a heart-beat.

A new "go to" on my book list

I really enjoyed this one and will definitely be rereading in the future! I bookmarked a ton of things to go back to. Its full of spells, rituals and practical info and advice. I've already done one of the rituals and plan on going back to do more. Really looking forward to "banishing fear of success" which is a topic I have never seen another book bring up before. Also some of the things surrounding guilt were helpful.

The part that made the biggest impression and that I am trying to implement daily is being kind to your future self. Meaning don't leave more problems for your future self than they can handle. Balancing your needs now with those in the future. She words and explains it much better than I do of course

Phenomenal

I loved this book. I purchased the audio book- I enjoyed the soothing narration from Gabra Zackman! This book is JAMMED PACKED of amazingly detailed steps and information as well as ideas. I would recommend to all those wanting in include more magic into their lives. Weather you’re still in the boom closet like myself, or able to be more outspoken with your witchy beliefs. I’m going to go and buy the actual book.

Enlighten

Overall, this book should be read as a hard copy due to the fact there are so many steps and great recommendations. I will be buying the hard copy, For the witch part, I don't practice Wicca and I don't think for anyone that does, will enjoy this book. But, for the average reader of self care, this is a softer different approach of creating positive spaces at home and your everyday life.

better than expected

Not to sound skeptical but I never expected this to be as helpful as it is..... & to be honest there's a good bit in/on here that I've actually learned in (non-magikal) therapy groups, etc. it also had plenty more to add to what I've previously learned. I'm very impressed with this book and I definitely recommend it to anyone who suffers from 'mental disorders' (from anxiety to depression and anything in between, regardless of religion or lack there of)

Get the printed version instead

Great intro and performance

It’s a little hard to keep up with the recipe in audio. Printed version will be better because it looks like there’s illustrations that come with it.

It was pretty good

It was more about self care than witchy stuff, if you already enjoy taking time out for yourself (as I do) this book may not be hugely helpful for you. The narrator's voice was not my favorite. I read another review that mentioned her voice and I listened to the sample and thought "Its not that bad" but after a while it got on my nerves. I didn't hate the book, just not for me.

good info but somewhat appopriative

this books has good suggestions for incorporating self care into witch craft practice, including journal prompts, craft ideas and recipes. but the author didn't get the memo that smudging is a closed ceremony and not appopriate term to use as white people, and Tibetan singing bowls are in fact not from Tibet
