Summary

What would you do if you were transported 450 years back in time, were accused of witchcraft, and fell in love with a man destined to die?

Justine Parker is a hopeless romantic who has long been obsessed with the Tudor period. Working in a magnificent stately home that once belonged to the dashing adventurer Sir William de Beauvais, she often daydreams about the lavish balls and grandeur of Tudor life. But when a freak electrical storm suddenly catapults her back in time, she discovers the harsh reality of Tudor England—a time of perilous accusations, ruthless witch hunts, and deadly punishments.

Justine's dreams of romance are shattered when she's accused of witchcraft by a sinister witchfinder. With her life on the line, she must find the courage and ingenuity to clear her name and survive in a world vastly different from her own.

As if things couldn't get worse, Justine finds herself falling in love with the real Sir William de Beauvais, but her heart breaks when she realizes he's due to die the very next day. Can she use her knowledge of the future to save his life and change history forever? Or will fate be too powerful to overcome?

The Witchfinder’s Well is a captivating historical romance that will transport you back in time and keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last moment. With vivid descriptions of Tudor England, heart-wrenching moments of love and loss, and a powerful message of strength and perseverance, this fast-paced romantic adventure has been delighting audiences on e-book and in print—and now it has been brought to life in an exciting audiobook by narrator Caroline Holmes. Great romance and adventure

I had read both The Alchemist's Arms and the Sovereign's Secret before getting around to listening to this, the first book in the series and it did not disappoint. Beautifully narrated by Caroline Holmes I was able to fill in the gaps about how Justine was transported from the modern day to Tudor England and how she established her life there - despite Hopkirk's best efforts. As usual a great and pacy story with lots of twists and turns

wonderful story from awful times

I like this author very much, his stories are always well researched, gripping and entertaining.
It´s appalling how religious fanatics threaten other peoples´ lives. Justine´s clever plan to save herself and William by using 21st century tools and beating the mob at their own game is just brilliant.
I also loved the narrator´s voice, it was easy and pleasant to listen to.
