About this listen

It’s Rachel Morgan’s ultimate adventure . . . and anything can happen in this final book in the New York Times bestselling Hollows series.

Rachel Morgan has come a long way since her early days as an inexperienced bounty hunter. She’s faced vampires and werewolves, banshees, witches, and soul-eating demons. She’s crossed worlds, channelled gods, and accepted her place as a day-walking demon. She’s lost friends and lovers and family, and an old enemy has unexpectedly become something much more.

But power demands responsibility, and world-changers must always pay a price. Rachel knew that this day would come –and now it is here.

To save Ivy’s soul and the rest of the living vampires, to keep the demonic ever-after and our own world from destruction, Rachel Morgan will risk everything . . .

Critic reviews

“Fast-paced and entertaining.” (Publishers Weekly )

“The pace and tone of A Perfect Blood reflects its protagonist: a little more cautious, reflective and purposeful, and the book is more powerful as a result…Harrison provides the strongest and most self-assured Rachel we’ve seen yet.” (Miami Herald on A PERFECT BLOOD )

“Harrison’s colorful cast of supporting characters keeps the story moving among the fast-paced action scenes. Longtime fans will obviously be standing in line for this one. However, readers with any interest in urban fantasy can easily jump into the story.” (Library Journal on A PERFECT BLOOD )

“With the end of this popular series coming soon, fans will be savoring the remaining episodes all the more, and those who have delayed entry will begin jumping on board.” (Booklist on A PERFECT BLOOD )

Sad it's at an end, but such a beautiful end.

I've loved every book in the hollows series, and absolutely loved Marguerite Gavin as the narrator
All the voices she does, make me totally forget that it's one person reading.
She does a brilliant job with the male voices, and carries it through every book.
This book sadly is the last of a phenomenal series, and although I'm very sad to come to the end, Kim Harrison brings the whole series to a complete and beautiful end.
The Witch With No Name is a fast paced, fantastical, rollercoaster of a listen.
So much happens, and so much is resolved.
Its brought me to tears, and had me laughing too.
I cant recommend this book enough, in fact the whole series is a complete and fantastic ride, and I will certainly be listening to it again!

Do not miss reading this book

What did you like most about The Witch with No Name?

The story line was well presented and kept my interest, in truth, I was sorry when it came to an end.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Witch with No Name?

That is always such a difficult question, because there were so many, and in simple truth, I feel it would be unfair to spoil it for others, read it and discover the magic in this authors wondrous skill.

What about Marguerite Gavin’s performance did you like?

again please do not ask me such questions, i just loved this book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

very much so, in fact I did.

Any additional comments?

A great book, as has been the series of her books.

a good end to a good series

Would you listen to The Witch with No Name again? Why?

yes i would listen again and i have listened to the hole series again, the story moves at a good pace the characters for me have taken on a life of there own there is good times and bad times and the narration has given the characters there own identity

What did you like best about this story?

i like how it follows on from the last book it brings every thing to a nice close and i do like a happy ever after, the dialog to me seems realistic and the response of characters to each other felt as if i was there

Which scene did you most enjoy?

this is hard as i have loved all of this book but i have to say any scene where jinx is in it all ways makes me smile

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

i still now, even after listening to it twice it can makes me sad and make me smile and i fine my self looking forward to the parts that have grabbed me

Any additional comments?

i,m not much of a reader. I started listening to this series about book 8, when i had listen to them all i brought the books and read them because i had listened the these books, the read was easy as the voices of the characters was established in my head and for me this was the first time i brought the book before the audio book came out and i still brought the audio book as soon as it was released still go back to them.
it is well worth the listen.

Fantastic book

It’s my second time listening to this series because the author has released some follow up books, and I wanted to re-listen to refresh my memory before diving into those. I love this series just as much as I remembered, and this book makes a great conclusion to the series too (but I’m not sad it’s carrying on after all!) Now I get to listen to the new release - yay!

Yawn, another book about vampires!

I obviously did not check the details of this sale book closely enough, as I do not like vampire books! I don't understand why writers don't make up their own monsters rather than using this tired genre.
To keep a perspective on matters, I only listened to 15 minutes of this book before returning it for a refund and so I can't comment beyond that time period.
The reason I instantly disliked this book was because it was a vampire story that seemed more aimed at females e.g. mention of good looking guys, and number of references to killer heels and clothing and also the general delivery of the orator. I can't imagine too many guys would want to listen to that kind of stuff. But, ratings are good for this book and so maybe I have it all wrong. It's possible that it gets much better after the initial delivery and perhaps I have missed a classic. But, I doubt it!
