Unbelievable nonsense. An author trying to hard to evade the premature anticipation of the ending.

No. Just, no

Too much emphasis on the elusive suspense, not enough on a crafted novel. It is predictable because it becomes ridiculous

Dreadful Ending to a great story

I was really enjoying this - a tale involving the psychological effects on people with missing children, the breakdown of relationships and trust, the people willing to exploit them for profit, a mother unraveling with the long wait for news of her child - but the ending was just awful, ludicrous even.

Gripping and sad

I was gripped the whole way through, couldn’t stop listening to it, the performance was great. At times really sad as it tracks the story of the marriage breakdown and difficult relationship between the family members. Really interesting story with twists and turns leading up to the final surprise ending where it all becomes clear. I’ll definitely listen to some more books by this author and/or actor.

Chilling and claustrophobic

Well written story, it really drew me in. It’s so cold and chilling it might make you shiver. The description of psycological abuse as well as mental illness is very disturbing and made me feel a bit claustrophobic. I’ll have to listen to something cheerful now! Wonderfully narrated by Emma Gregory!

Loved this book!

Cassandra Parkin writes beautifully and Emma Gregory’s performance is superb. I listen to 4 books a month, & have done for several years, but this is one of those that will stick in my mind. I savoured every moment, including the ending!
