more magic from Martha
Another one I couldn't put down from Martha Beck, beautifully told alongside the allegory of Dante's Inferno she describes her personal journey of living in full honesty and how one may embark on the journey to discover the meaningful authentic life. This is a darker and deeper companion to Finding Your Own North Star when you're ready to dive into shadow work.

Life-changing (no, really)
I've read more than my fair share of 'self-help' books, in search of meaning, answers and methods I could apply to my life. Not one of them has come close to really speaking to me, inspiring me and inciting me like this one. Even though I knew little about Martha Beck until I read it, I immediately connected with her style and her take on life and how to live with integrity (spoiler alert: it's much much more than the moral integrity we are used to using that word for). I've listened all through, three times now. I make positive changes to my life on every listen. I may only ever listen to this one book until I've burned through all my hell gates! Thank you, Martha. Truly.

Fantastic! Best listened to at x0.9 speed
Loved it! I took my time with it. Allowing myself space to digest. Some chapters I listened to several times. A book I look forward to reading again. It accompanied a truly life-changing transition and shift in consciousness in my life. Thank you Martha x

Purely real
I love this book, it demonstrated love, care, vulnerability and a passion to make a difference in the world. It was interesting, informative and I loved the references to Dante’s Divine Comedy throughout the book. This spoke to me and kept me fully engaged. Although I haven’t as yet undertaken the exercises, I will in due course. The words spoke to me at a soul level and this was just what I needed to hear in that moment. I aspire to be like Martha and have always valued honesty above other qualities but I haven’t always been true to myself or others. I am a seeker, I’m on a quest to find out who I really am and what my path is and this book is wonderfully written and touched my heart. I think anyone in a similar position to me who wants a better more fulfilling and compassionate life should read this book. Thank you Martha for being so brave as to lay yourself out and share your experiences, you have opened my eyes to the fact that there is always a better way.

A strong 4 stars
Powerful message about telling the truth as you feel and experience it inwardly. That will most likely mean not going along with how the culture suggests you be. If you go against your nature (truth) to live in line with the culture you will experience unhappiness. The only way towards happiness is to be your nature and live your truth, your body gives you the information about what is your truth.
It presented very well and Martha’s life is inspiring.

Captivating
Book that I am going definitely back to listen once again after I have finished The Secret
It has invaluable exercises and meditations but so many that it needs a refresher

Wonderful
I found the whole book a wonderful transformative experience.
It was an honest and open journey where Martha lay her struggles and challenges for all to read /listen and move forward with her . All paralleled with Dante and his journey.
The exercises along the way allowed the listener to stop, reflect and question where they are at that moment in their lives.
