Victoria described herself as an emotional creature and blamed her gender for what she believed were her shortcomings as a monarch.

Nothing new or Not Known.

I have read many books, papers, and theories about both Queen Victoria and The Victorians. This one is very poor, it does tell us anything new or unknown. It reads like a history lesson for 12-year-olds. The idea that Victora is to be credited with the great achievements of the Victorian Era is laughable. The woman hid her self away dressed in black for 40 years, she achieved or did nothing. While Darwin, Dickens, and others are worthy of their place in the History books, I fail to see how anyone can admire Victora, a woman who lived a life of luxury and moaned her way through life. She treated both her children and her people with contempt. While the Victorians were remarkable people the Queen the Era was named after was far from remarkable.

Queen Victoria has always been a favorite of mine

Very interesting, packed full of researched history. Really enjoyed listening this audiobook because I learned a lot about Queen Victoria but was entertained by the way the author wrote the story.

Truly intimate

Covering her life from her birth to the end of her life, this book truly was an intimate biography, and I feel as though I have come out of this biography with a renewed love for this Queen Regnant.

A comprehensive factual presentation of all that

Victoria was an amazing Queen. She may have been as deeply flawed as all humans are, but for her era, she was a remarkable woman.

well written historical experience

It is a book not only on Victoria, but especially on her husband; without his opinions and decisions she may not have been such a successful queen. It is the best book I have read on the history of the so-called Victorian age.

Captivating

The newest biography on Queen Victoria, Captivating History's Victoria is a well researched and well written exploration of one of the most famous women who has ever lived- and who is probably known more by the mythology surrounding her and her reign than the reality.
