Summary

The first time I was declared dead, I lost my past. The second time, I lost my humanity. Now I’m being hunted, and if I die again, my soul is up for forfeit.

After enrolling in Peel Academy, an elite supernatural boarding school on the British Isles, the last of the sirens, Gabrielle Fiori, only wants to fit in. Instead, the elixir meant to awaken her supernatural abilities kills her.

When Gabrielle wakes up in the morgue 12 hours later, something wicked is awakened in her, something even the supernatural community has never seen before. Now the only person who can help her is Andre de Leon, the community's infamous bad boy and the king of vampires.

Yet even his help can’t prevent the repeated attempts on Gabrielle’s life. Someone is after her, and they will stop at nothing to end her short existence. Only Gabrielle cannot let that happen now that her soul hangs in the balance, because she may have met the devil. And he wants her. Bad.

A siren vampire

Jill Smith did a fantastic job as a narrator for this story. I hope she narrators the 4 other books in this series.

Where to begin? Mrs. Thalassa does it again. Draws you in, keeps it interesting, and makes you crave more.

A siren/vampire, the king of vampires, seers, fates, fairies, shape shifters... a magical world inside our very own not so magical world. A unsolved Mystery, a murder plot, and the biggest twist of all. I can’t wait for book two to be available on audible.

Stupid move after even stupider move

This book is nothing compared to the rest of Thalassa’s books which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I was annoyed the entire book because the main character is a huge idiot. She just does the dumbest things and and asks no questions. The book as a whole is a lazy surface level version of the authors prior books. Such a disappointment.

Also the narrator pauses way too long between sentences about 80 percent of the time.

Fun Story, A Bit Too Drawn Out

I wasn't sure how I felt about this book when I finished listening to it. I was at that in between where I kind of want to know what is going to happen and where the story might go, but I am not sure I can put up with all the things I did not like for a 2nd book. So, I'm still on the fence about that...I want there to be more to the characters; I don't love insta love and while I get sex is fun, the main love interest is a rich guy who gets any girl he wants and isn't very nice. And

*spoiler* at the end she is with someone else, it very obviously leaves that door open. I probably won't be listening to the next one.

Was no Bargainer series

I bought this book because I loved The Bargainer Series. The author captured the romance, drama, and humor all each story. This book though, seemed to be for a different younger kind of audience. Still a good story, just not what I expected.

read in past tense instead of present.

it's hard to explain but I'm only about 20 minutes into this and I can't do it just for the fact all of it is read in past tense. I hate to rate this low because Laura thalassa's bargainer series was absolutely amazing. but it made this one too hard to listen to I wish I could return it for my credit.

LOVED IT!

So, kinda like most people, I fell in love with Laura Thalassa’s books after reading The Bargainer series. I didn’t know anything about this series and went into it totally blind and I don’t regret it at all! Some parts of it reminded me of Harry Potter, but for a YA audience instead of middle grade. And instead of wizards and witches, everyone is something different. Such a fun and quick read, and the romance was not too rushed, but not to dragged out either. I will definitely be binging this series!
