Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The Twits by Roald Dahl, read by Richard Ayoade.

Mr Twit is a foul and smelly man with bits of cornflake and sardine in his beard.

Mrs Twit is a horrible old hag with a glass eye.

Together they make the nastiest couple you could ever hope not to meet.

Down in their garden, the ghastly, evil Twits keep Muggle-Wump the monkey and his family locked in a cage.

But not for much longer! Because the monkeys are planning to trick the terrible Twits and make their escape, once and for all....

VERY expensive for an hour

Nothing wrong with story or delivery of the story. But it’s a rip off for an hour of story telling and Amazon should be ashamed at the price or, failing that, their inability to negotiate a fairer price for its customers with the principal.

Fun and Enjoyable Listen!

I remember reading this in primary school, and since I was (and still am) a fan of Roald Dahl's work, I thought I would re-live some of my childhood.

Very funny and enjoyable story that lasts just under an hour which I listened to whilst out for an evening walk. Definitely recommended for children of primary school age, and those that want to re-live a bit of nostalgia. Also, entertaining narration from Richard Ayoade.

Really good

This is peake entertainment and it’s really good! It could of been a bit longer but it is really good. 6-11 because some littler kids could find it sad that the animals are in cages and are forced to do tricks and birds are cooked but over 6 year olds will be fine.
Deffo recommend.

Excellent reading by Mr. Ayoade!

Great to read in one sitting. I liked the music at the beginning and end as well; it added character to the narration.

Too shrill

Love the Twits but the narration of the wife was much too shrill, and the husband very mumbling. Had to keep turning volume up and down constantly.

The voices are a bit odd

The story is OK. It would be nice if Mr Twit doesn't sound like he is bored. I thought Mr Twit would sound mad and gets really loud not like, he is so bored (if you know what I mean) but apart from that it is still good

So much nostalgia

I loved the twits as a kid and my brother just got a tone of Roald Dahl books as a prize for getting a good report at the end of year 2. He's so excited to listen with me and I love hearing it again. 10/10

Open minded

Not my style at all but was highly recommended to listen and all I can say is: classic Roald Dahl eccentric journey.. if you love his writing, I imagine you’ll love this.

Ayoade is a national treasure

This book is amazingly narrated by Ayoade. I would gladly sit and giggle along with my 4yo niece to this wonderful tale. Highly recommended.

Fantastic narration for this classic Roald Dahl story. An easy five stars, from our eight year old listener.
