Summary

Life is an uncertain morphing of the beautiful and devastating, the reckless and ordained, the inconsequential and cataclysmal. Brianna Wiest writes about her own experiences and truths of life as they pertain to the greater universe in this first compilation of her work.

The selected pieces are ones to turn to when you are in need of answers, comfort and a little tough love now and again. Brianna provides a place of solace and understanding while still perpetuating her beliefs as they pertain to the reality of our individual journeys. The Truth About Everything asks you to challenge what you thought to be true, take the spiritual journey, and come out on the other end with your own story to tell.

Narration spoilt it for me

The narration was really off putting for me and so I really struggled to listen. I have read a number of self help and development books and found the concepts to be quite basic and not really engaging for the reader. I found my attention drifting but again I think that was partly due to the narration.

Incredible eye opener

Spoken from the heart, from experience from a place of love and wanting to help others.
This book is amazing, perspective changing and a bit of a kick up the backside for those who need it most, just like me.
Thank you so much Brianna, I am going to change my life for the better today and without hesitation!

Pithy

Didn't like the narration.
Pithy.
Some good points, I found it mostly patronising though.

A therapeutic book that I didn’t know I needed

This book was something i stumbled across, as a 21 year old who feels very stuck and has no sense of direction of where my life is going and doesn’t understand a lot of people / things around me, this book helped me understand a lot and reassured me with everything i had been thinking and feeling lately. Constantly having different variables in your day to day life that affects your mood and ability to think such as your physical appearance, career, religion etc, this book really opened my eyes to look at life in a different light. I genuinely think that we live in a generation where a lot of unimportant things and variables become hard to keep up with and we constantly try and make our self worth based around these things... which is far from ok. It was very therapeutic and i am going to be listening to it for the 2nd time as theres too much i could say on it! The narrator also had a very comforting voice, so to hear those words come from such a voice really hit differently. I highly recommend for anyone in their early 20s or even 20-30s it’s a must listen. Especially for those who don’t quite understand how to go about’s talking to a professional about day to day things that you didn’t know causes a build up of stress and frustration.

Would not recommend

There was nothing new or original or creative. There are so many better books out there on this subject that are well researched, with authors who have more experience. This felt like a personal journal rather than a book that should have been published. Disappointed that I didn’t learn anything new whatsoever.

Pithy advice/Wives Tales

Though this advice may benefit some people, many thoughts are not advisable. The most important thing I can tell people who listen to this book is please; please don’t jump into the ocean with open wounds. Yes, saline water can heal, but the ocean is not a sanitary environment. The author’s mother’s experience and advice should be updated to include modern medical practices. Advising people with open wounds to swim in any ocean is simply a terrible idea. This wasn’t fact checked and contains untrue statements and information perceived as fact. Any medical professional (or even someone like me with knowledge of First Aid) is aware that bug bites are wounds that are best treated by modern medicine. Wounds of any variety can become infected or have problems from microorganisms and bacteria found in unfiltered ocean water.

very enlightening.

I enjoyed listening and was awaken to many different thoughts. I will be listening again and again. I would encourage everyone to listen and listen with an open mind and heart. There are many things I would love to share with the younger members of my family.

The title may be a bit too confident…

I can’t remember why this book was added to my library. Nonetheless, I was excited to listen. It wasn’t unpleasant, but it proved to not really be for me. I think the substance caters most effectively to a specific type audience. It feels like the author’s stream of consciousness, jumping from one idea to the next. There were some interesting perspectives and thought provoking points, but the majority was just obvious/rational conclusions or ideas, things that, if you are interested in these kinds of books and topics, you have likely already heard. Topics were more often than not explained or described in a grandiose terms. So, if you tend to or prefer to relate/experience/understand things on a more personal, relatable level, this may not be the book for you. The most enjoyable chapters for me were when the author related lessons or revelations from her own life. However, some of these had rather narcissistic overtones.
Again, not an unpleasant experience, it just didn’t strike a chord with me.

not bad.

it was a good pick me up if it is written for someone who is currently so down that they can't see the way up. in other words, a lot of it seemed to be common sense. I understand the argument would be made that what is common sense to one group is new information to another, but I still think that this book could be summed up as "this too shall pass". if you heard that growing up and understood, you don't need to listen to this whole book. if you've never heard that saying before, this book might just blow your mind.
