Summary

Speaker and writer J. C. Ryle once said, "The man who hears the word of God and does it is the true Christian. He hears the call of God to repent and be converted, and he obeys it. He ceases to do evil and learns to do well. He puts off the old man and puts on the new. He hears the call of God to believe in Jesus Christ for justification, and he obeys it."

In The True Christian, Ryle details many more ways in which Christians can be uncompromising in their biblical principles.

What a wonderful book

Very much recommend for everyone to listen these simple truths about Christian life.

I enjoyed these texts so much that I even bought this book to myself. Unfortunately there wasn't any paper books available but a CD with mp3 files.

a new favorite!

you can't ever go wrong with Ryle... but this book was still such a surprise! covering so much truth, so much doctrine... in typical, simple, Ryle-ease bluntness. not a believer? hear the pleading for the truth. a new believer? hear the knowledge that will ground you and set a firm foundation. mature saint? listen regularly to remember promises that help us run the race set before us 💜

Timeless Truths

Clearly distinguished true followers of Christ from pretenders or nonbelievers. Encouraged to examine ourselves to determine if we are truly in the faith. Both encouraging and convicting.

A man who wants people to know the Lord

This author is truly passionate about wanting people to know the Lord intimately and not having anyone be lost.

The narrator was great too.

Quality Material

JC Ryle is a very engaging preacher and has a timeless message we need to continue to hear. The last chapter on assurance is a most. Also there was a good message about how we have forgiveness now.

One of the best books I have ever read

Solid and pure doctrine, coherent, clear, to the point, practial, full of concepts and insight. After the bible, it must be in the book's top of any library.

Will Touch Your Spirit

This is a wonderful book It walked me through the memory of my conversion. Helped me understand the process of sanctification.
This is a wonderful book and tool for self examination according to scripture. All is inline with scripture. No man made interpretation and no emotionalism involved except that pure emotion the christian goes through as we seek our creator with a thankful heart.
