I don't think I'd listen to another one of his to be honest. The story was predictable and very slow

Quite slow and boring

The story was interesting with a number of characters and a twisting plot, but I felt no empathy for the main character, the psychologist. Perhaps this was partly down to the narrator who was clear and compelling, but grim. But I think he had no choice given the condition of the psychologist. I did not feel that I had met any of the characters apart from the psychologist and his Scottish friend, the other characters were there to progress the story. The ending felt like it had been written with the hope of becoming an action film.

Interesting but grim

A very good listen indeed. The story IS very good but what I really enjoyed about this Audiobooks was the very enthusiastic highly exited voices of the narrator. He really brought the key characters to life.

Would you listen to The Suspect again? Why?

From the first chapter, I was reeled in. Time and again I was lead down the various alley ways of 'Who dunnit'.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Suspect?

Many moments of this story left me breathless, wondering how the main character would bring the unknown villain to justice.

Which character – as performed by Crispin Redman – was your favourite?

The performance by Crispin Redman was dramatic, clearly spoken and believable. He portrays Joe's inner dialogue with passion.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

This book feels like a film throughout. It has vivid settings, visually beautiful characters and a storyline that moves at an incredible pace.

Any additional comments?

A must for those who enjoy intelligently conceived thrillers.

The narration was so distracting that insometimes struggled to follow the story. I hope the following books are narrated differently.

Great story. Terrible narration .

Good plot. Narrator was good but the voice did not seem to fit the character.

The suspect

Great plot and portrayal of characters and relationships which are utterly believable, lots of surprises and a main character that you can really empathize with and their view of the world. Also a page turner once you get into it and keeps you guessing despite which seems to be obvious from the beginning.

Best read in a long time
