After reading the sample of this book on the author's website, and feeling very much identify with her, I thought I need to read this book! Bought the audio version though, to find out that it narrates exactly the same chapter as in the sample! Very disappointed.
Anyhow, the tips and examples are great, is not something new to me to hear if you want to change something you have to change the way you see it or act, and that is more or less the message that comes across. It requires a lot of inner work though, nevertheless, it's only one day since starting practising the advice and I can already see a positive difference between us!!

Really like this book you have to be open minded when you read it though.I have already been implementing some of the things and im seeing changes.Just wish there was more chapters!!! So i have bought the hard copy book hoping there is more depth to it.

.. for extracting lost knowledge that women knew but there has been a cut off since the sixties. As a man I'm learning about things about myself that I always knew but couldn't put into relationship context.

ALL WOMEN NEED TO STUDY AND PRACTICE THIS WAY BEFORE MARRIAGE.

If it's not for you, well at least you can make an assessment of what you may want from knowing how things really are.

this book saved my marriage! I can't recommend it enough. start with an open mind!

This audiobook is short, but I find the quick overview very useful. I like to be reminded of Laura's techniques occasionally, usually when I feel my relationship starting to drift sideways. I find this audiobook very grounding and it's like taking a refresher course in her techniques.

For those who are hearing Laura Doyle for the first time, the audio book of "first kill all the marriage counsellors" may be more suitable. She explains a lot more of the "why" these techniques work and the long term goal.

I think we could all do with giving up a little bit of control to lead happier and more fulfilling lives. This is essentially the essence of this story and I think the author explains it very well. As a former control addict and always looking for ways that I can surrender more and be better in my life and I definitely picked up a few fabulous tips from this book. perhaps her best tip is not retaliating in an argument but simply saying ouch Wenstone by the words of another. This leaves them to assess their words and leave them hanging in the air which has a far greater effect than retaliating in anger. Definitely recommended if you are married or intended to get married

A friend recommended this book as I had watched a film which had helped me recognise that I wasn’t allowing my husband to be a man. Having read this book I fall into every single category. It’s going to take time but I will work on this from today. I think I will need to listen again to this book every so often to help me reach my goal. Thank you so much for writing this in a clear , concise way that doesn’t degrade women but empowers us.

Straightforward and practical advice for controlling wives. I had a light bulb moment when I came across this book and the fact I could listen to it in just over an hour has given me instant and much needed inspiration to improve my relationship.
