About this listen

A father is murdered in the dead of night in his London home, his head wrapped tightly in tape, a crude sad face penned over his facial features. But the victim's only child is left alive and unharmed at the scene.

Met Police detectives Grace Archer and Harry Quinn have more immediate concerns. Notorious gangster Frankie White has placed a target on Archer's back, and there's no one he won't harm to get to her.

Then a second family is murdered, leaving young Uma Whitmore as the only survivor. Once again the victim's face is found wrapped and inked.

With a serial killer at large, DI Archer and DS Quinn must stay alive long enough to find the connection between these seemingly random victims. Can they do it before another child is made an orphan?

Looking forward to the next one.

I really enjoyed this book, although it does seem that Grace would well in ‘The Perils of Pauline’. My one small criticism is the narrator’s pauses at inappropriate times midway through a conversation. It ruins the flow and feels very odd. Apart from that that, a good story and well read.

Kept me interested

I’m loving this series and can’t wait for next one. 😻
Only 1 thing that just didn’t sit well was pauses in strange places, very noticeable if ( like myself ) you were binge listening but don’t let that put you off.

This is book 2 not book 1

Loved the first one I read but just started this one and realised that this meant to be book as certain characters are dead so shouldn’t be in this book. Ah well. Would suggest reading in order just so you know the back stories of the characters involved.
Hope I end up enjoying this one just as much 😁

The silent man

Format: audiobook
Narrator: Jess Nesling

This is the third book in a trilogy but the first I’ve read, Grace Archer has a disturbed killer to catch all the while with a target on her back placed there by gangster Frankie White, no one around her is safe.
The storyline is complex with several threads that keep you on your toes but I like a story that keeps you guessing and there’s a lot to unravel here.
Well worth a read or a listen as this is available as an audio book.

Great narration that really helped enhance the story.
