About this listen

Summoned to Rome by an old friend, a Jesuit scholar finds himself using a code discovered in the Bible to unearth an ancient, hidden chapel in the catacombs under the city. When a rogue force of Vatican security officials are alerted to his discovery, the priest flees to the Holy Land with a clue...a clue that will lead him and a team of Israeli Christians to a much larger secret in the middle of the barren Negev Desert.

Meticulously researched and drawing on scientific fact, John Lyman's intriguing story takes listeners into the world of scholars, archaeologists, code-breakers, and intelligence specialists who have discovered a prophetic code hidden within the Old Testament that authenticates the Bible as a book of supernatural origin and points to a divine plan. This gripping novel is truly a thought-provoking and action-packed thriller with implications for our future.

An antidote to worldly crime and mystery books

For a religious based novel it’s pretty good. Keeps the attention and isn’t too unrealistic. It’s not for everyone of course and this little dated but having said that is entertaining nonetheless.

Epically entertaining

Really enjoyed this book and its characters. Well written, well read, not unrealistic, romp through Rome and Isreal with a heavy catholic vibe. Sets the scene very nicely for the series and further entertaining and exciting listening.

Entertaining

It’s a fun plot and a good performance. Some of the dialogue was pretty poor and a few of the characters paper thin, but it’s an entertaining listen

The awful narration

I struggled through this utter nonsense. It was awful tosh, badly written, full of cliches and the narrator was simply awful. The British accents at the start were appalling. Won’t be listening to any more of this series

Langdon and Buffy’s clumsy love-child…..in a backpack.

Complete twaddle, but oddly entertaining enough if you put aside the daft plot, flimsy characters, rudimentary writing (dodgy grammar, limited vocabulary, repeated stock phrases, stilted dialogue) I think he wants to be Dan Brown, but still has a long way to go on all counts.
It really is very, very silly, as are some of the narrator’s accents - the Norwegian is particularly fascinating. Can’t quite work out the point of it all; nevertheless, I am still listening……. kind of stuck here with flu though, and would be properly miffed had I used a credit on it rather than it being a freebie.

A truly vile piece of fiction

Such vile propaganda should not be written and certainly not published as for the author they should go back to throwing stones at non Christian’s
