About this listen

The third novel from the author of the Baileys Prize-winning The Glorious Heresies.

Reunions. Recriminations. Reckonings.

Ireland. Great nationalists, bad mothers and a whole lot of secrets. Ryan Cusack is ready to deliver its soundtrack.

Former sex-worker Georgie wants the truth about Ryan's past out there, but the journalist has her own agenda.

Mel returns from Brexit Britain, ill-equipped to deal with the resurgence of a family scandal.

Karine has always been sure of herself, until a terrible secret tugs the rug from under her.

Maureen has got wind that things are changing, and if anyone's telling the story she wants to make sure it's her.

A riotous blast of sex, scandal, obsession, love, feminism, gender, music, class and transgression from an author with tremendous, singular talent.

Got the 1st book on a deal of the day, instantly loved it and bought the 2nd then 3rd immediately after I finished listening. I just couldn’t let go of the characters and needed to stay with them all until the end.
Loved the characterisation and the language and the narration was exemplary. Each voice unique and perfect.
I’m sad to get the end but grateful I found them. Will definitely look for more by the author

Devoured the whole trilogy

Every sentence is a masterpiece.
The narrator is also perfect for the role. Highly recommended

Lisa McInerney is as good writer as I've read, do yourselves a favour, start and book one and do the trilogy, you will not regret it. Also the reader is sublime, thank you both

A classic

I'm going to miss this cast of characters. Beautifully lyrical book and sympathetic treatment of characters.

Fantastic book

Great writer, but sadly each sequel in the series offers diminishing returns. First book was great, second was good, third I could have lived without.

Short on plot
