About this listen

Life in the newly independent city state of Rosewater isn't everything its citizens were expecting....

Mayor Jacques finds that debts incurred during the insurrection are coming back to haunt him.

Nigeria isn't willing to let Rosewater go without a fight.

And among the city's alien inhabitants, a group has emerged who murder humans to provide bodies for their takeover....

Operating across spacetime, the xenosphere and international borders, it is up to a small group of hackers and criminals to prevent the extraterrestrial advance. The fugitive known as Bicycle Girl, Kaaro and his old handler Femi may be humanity's last line of defence.

The Rosewater Redemption is the powerful conclusion to Tade Thompson's award-winning Wormwood trilogy.

Great Trilogy

The only bad thing about the Rosewater Trilogy is that I've finished reading it. Looking forward to more from this fantastic author.

Great Scì Fi Trilogy

The third and final Rosewater book draws all the divergent storylines to a satisfactory conclusion. Wish there could be a fourth volume. Been very interesting to have a fully African story. Shall miss some of the characters. Engaging listening, well narrated.

Exciting sci-fi trilogy but. . .

I read the first two books and the last one in the trilogy I listened as an audiobook. Although I loved the first two, quite a lot of time elapsed since I read the first two books. I thing Tade wanted to end the trilogy but tiding loose ends in the story but it felt a little confusing. However, this does not detract from the fact that it is a great story and set in Africa which is unusual for sci-fi. I enjoyed it very much as a whole.

Superb conclusion

Probably the best of the trilogy and well worth the time and investment. Great characters and storylines. I miss them all!

Hugo Finalist 2020

I keep ducking out of reviewing this final part of the Wormwood trilogy and that's because, despite listening twice (on Audible) I still don't feel up to the task. What I can say is that Thompson has a knowledge base that carries him through a world of complexity and possibilities and he lets us see this by the way his story and characters evolve and behave, not through dropping chunks of it into the conversation like the party bore. It makes his contexts plausible however bizarre they seem because at the bottom of it all is evidential validity. You don't get to be a Hugo Finalist for nothing.

Rosewater A Fabulous & Epic Series

Rosewater is a fabulous and fascinating series with a great mix of characters, themes and ideas. This series is now part of my all-time favourites, one I will be recommending for years to come. Lots of other great reviews to read, and I wanted to avoid spoilers, suffice to say if you like interesting sci-fi, questions about environment, culture, politics and relationships, then this is a series for you. One criticism is that initially I found the story time jumps a bit irritating, but there is a reason for them. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole series.
Wonderful narration. Initially I was apprehensive about the slow and measured narration approach, but that was quickly proven to be not an issue. Lots of different characters are easy to recognise due to the diverse range of voices used to help differentiate and personalise them. The different characters come across brilliantly, distinct from each other, fabulous voice acting.

Would rate performance more than five stars if possible

The story is great and all, but the narrator is welcome to do every book as far as I’m concerned. In a Nigerian accent

A beautiful conclusion

The story continued well and the character arch’s felt tight. There were instances where it seemed forced or a strong attempt to tie up a plot line.

Overall, it is a good story and performance.
