Summary
Solitary space jock Landry Krieger eked out a living transporting data throughout the Settled Galaxy - and boosted his income by smuggling people into and out of star systems past the watchful eyes of governments, in hiding places he built in his ship, Midnight Angel.
When the priests of Tao Pacem sought his services, he resisted. Brown robes? Yin-yang symbols? A plan to sneak the reincarnation of their spiritual leader to their conquered homeworld to spark a rebellion against their oppressors? After earlier experiences with religious leaders, he would need far more than 300,000 galaxycoins to say yes.
He got it when an arrogant agent of the oppressors tried to scare him off the job. But Landry will need more than a contempt for tyrants to deliver his passengers to their destination. To survive threats of brain reprogramming and death. To bring about a new era for millions of people in the Settled Galaxy.

A wonderful start to the Settled Galaxy series!
Raymund Eich writes a wonderful book in what I hope is an amazing series! This is the first story I have read from Raymund and I'm glad I did. We see the life of smuggler Landry Krieger as he struggles internally and externally and develops throughout the book. The main character and supporting characters are well written. The overall world is in depth and detailed. The overall plot moves at a good pace and the story is memorable. I look forward to the next book in the series. Audio Version: Paul E. Silbermann does a great job with the overall narration and each of the distinct characters.

Great Science Fiction Adventure
This was my first experience of Raymund Eich's work, and I enjoyed it a lot. The story was about a man, named Landry Kreiger, who piloted a shape ship. In order to increase his income, Landry had no problem with some smuggling, as long as the price was right. The tale was intense. The characters were complex. The world building was descriptive. Paul E. Silbermann's narration was great and kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily posted this review.

A poignant clash of personal ideals
Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. This beautifully written journey by Raymund Eich that's narrated by the mellow Paul E Silbermann delivers a poignant and thought provoking performance as the world that the spacejock Landry Krieger works to make a living smuggling goods, technology and even people throughout the Settled Galaxy. His solitary life aboard his ship Midnight Angel gets complicated as Landry agrees to take a group of followers of the Tao Pacem religion back to their captured homeworld with the prominent government carefully... silently chasing Midnight Angel to capture the group. While Landry may do this job for the much needed money, he finds himself taking a deep personal dive of his past and the personal he is now. A wondrous journey... a memorable adventure across the stars. Highly recommended.
