About this listen
It is the autumn of 2019. Merlin’s wayward apprentice has escaped from the tower of London with his raven familiars. Legend foretells that the white tower, then England, will fall. Can King Arthur, a weary veteran of the English Civil War, Waterloo, and the Somme, prevent the Ravenmaster from exacting his revenge?

interesting take on a myth
I really enjoyed this new take on the legend of King Arthur.
The way the story flipped between present and the past was a great way to fill in the background of characters whilst also pushing the story forward. It never detracts from the pacing of the story.
Nigel Peever gives great voices to the characters and makes the story even more enjoyable.

Arthur -- through time and danger
Having enjoyed Jacob Sannox's debut novel, Dark Oak, I was looking forward to The Ravenmaster's Revenge. I wasn't disappointed. This time it's historical fantasy, with King Arthur and his remaining knights honouring their vow to return when danger threatens England. Arthur's opponent is Merlin's apprentice -- the Ravenmaster. If his Ravens leave the Tower, then England falls . . . .
It's a tightly written, fast-paced novel that moves effortlessly back and forth from great events in England's past to modern times as the Ravenmaster pursues his aims.
I'm glad that Nigel Peever is again the narrator of another Sannox book. His beautifully modulated voice captures the majesty of the once and future king, and the menace of the dangers he and his knights face. Top drawer.

Loved it!
Just finished listening to this and I love the concept of following King Arthur through the ages. Really creative storytelling and wonderful use of descriptive language. Also an excellent balance between history and adventure. Thank you to the author for telling such a wonderful story. Definitely recommend this to anyone!

A brilliant take on a classic legend
I found this book very engaging, I wanted to keep driving just so I could hear more. A unique and interesting take on a much loved legend. Perhaps a little predictable at the very last but not unenjoyable by any stretch. I look forward to more from this author.
The narrator was excellent, producing not only individual and easily distinguishable voices for separate characters, but injecting them with feeling and tone that made them seem all the more real. I'd advise keeping this fellow around, Mr. Sannox!

Amazing
As a fan of King Arthur and Merlin stories, films and TV shows I didn’t know what to expect, but I really enjoyed this book. There were moments that left me with my jaw dropped as I really did not expect what was to come. I throughly enjoyed this audio book.
The only thing I did not like was the way that Abigail Peever pronounced some of the worlds but that is a personal thing which did not change how good the book is.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes well known stories with a twist, especially ones that involve King Arthur and Merlin.
I cannot wait to get started on the next book in this series.
