Inclusive, sexist with some good tips

Pretty much assumes you are a middle aged woman, with a desk job, money to spare, kids and a husband.

Also assumes that women are in charge of the kitchen and running the family.

Now the bad is out of the way, it did offer some good tips and make me feel not alone with my ADHD. Also made some interesting points about ADHD I could relate to and didn’t even realise they were ADHD related.

Not an ADHD friendly listen

very long and convoluted with key points not summerised. really struggled to finish it and should have returned.

Not recommended for those with ADHD but may be useful for friends or family

What a revelation!

A real eye-opener for women with ADHD and their loved ones. Lots of great, achievable strategies for coping in real-life situations. Some aspects were very USA-centric, but the broader ideas and advice still apply in the UK and elsewhere.

love the author's approach,very realistic

The author talks about communication, relationships, how to protect yourself in the workplace and how to make it work in the workplace as well as other areas of life, she covers a lot of topics and stages of life. She talks about how some important things can impact your life negatively or positively and there are some things which have a completely different effect on people with adhd and how they function compared to most people.

story of my life

despite the medical professionals being so oblivious to the effects ADHD has on one's life, this book knows it all. Absolute must listen-to for anyone with ADHD, but especially the women who have felt invisible in their struggle.

Get the book not the audio.

While the author offers a range of helpful tools, unless you take notes while listening it will be off little use. A PDF would have been useful with this book.

Very basic advice

Not for anyone who has already started their journey into understanding adhd. Perhaps ok for absolute beginners.

Shameless self promotion & a hard listen

I found this a very difficult listen. The amount of times the author quotes her website is ridiculous. The author hints at some rather out of date ideas too such as a woman being the homemaker, a woman preparing all the meals etc. There is the odd good tip and idea for managing symptoms of ADHD but mostly it just comes across as lecturing.

Disappointingly thin

If this is your first book on ADHD it may be useful. But I have have read many books and found that it lacked depth and offers only thin anecdotal (rather than evidence-based) advice.
