Summary
To have found God and still to pursue Him is a paradox of love, scorned indeed by the too-easily-satisfied religious person, but justified in happy experience by the children of the burning heart. Saint Bernard of Clairvaux stated this holy paradox in a musical four-line poem.
Come near to the holy men and women of the past and you will soon feel the heat of their desire after God. Let A. W. Tozer's pursuit of God spur you also into a genuine hunger and thirst to truly know God.

Where can I find God?
Is he in a church, if so which one? Many churches declare themselves to be the only road to God. Aren't our bodies meant to be God's temple where He dwells within? Does he know my every thought? How do I communicate with Him? I want "A Closer Walk With Thee." Does God want to be with me? These have been my personal reflections most of my life. I am 70 years old, and this book has answered most of my questions. I will continue my pursuit, because I know I need my Lord, and now I know He wants me to live and rest in Him, too. "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."

Exactly what I always knew! but no church I’ve ever been to practices
I finally read the first book ever in my life that explains how to be close to GOD according to scripture that I always knew in my heart was the only way! ❤️ There was never a church, priest, rabbi, minister, pastor, or any religion i.e. catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Assemblies of God, Protestant, 7th Day Adventist, Evangelical Free, Apologist, etc. etc., since I got saved 25 years ago that could teach God’s word correctly because of greed for money and growth and materialism and rituals and building projects 😫
The hypocrisy and lack of real faith in today’s churches is comical at best! This book has brought me to a place where I am now more confident than ever in my faith in God and my walk. I now know the right way to pray for the religious Pharisees in the world today bastardizing Gods word for their own wealth! God doesn’t want our money or to use it to pay for 10 plus church staffs salaries and their entire families health plans either...so sad...God must be reeling to see the mockery many churches in the world today have made. They are supposed to be meek and only concerned with sharing the gospel to others so everyone’s hearts yearn to have a right relationship with Him and seeks Him not man💔 Nobody needs Bible college and degrees 🤦🏼♀️ in order to guide someone to God. God’s Holy Spirit was left with all of us when Jesus went home, it’s so simple it’s stupid 🙄

Take the time to enjoy thoroughly
This is not a book to rush through. Each chapter can be a complete study in and of itself. Grab a friend and walk through the chapters together and take the time to discuss and digest. Good stuff! You’ll never be the same.

A great look and understanding of the word of God.
The thick old English made some things to grasp but as it went along I was able to understand it. This book really touched my heart and gave me a new out look of how to be closer to God. If you struggle with the understanding and how to go about things to his word this is the book for you.

Every Christian should read this book
Tozer is a humble author. His book points your eyes to Jesus. He then gives the reader points of reference to teach how we can continue our Pursuit of the Lord that is the lover of our soul

For the highly intellect!
Good stuff.... but a lot over my head. Speaks in KJV style. I’m more of a NIV girl.

Our relationship with God
In America we have a very shallow relationship with the living God, or at least I did. We accept Christ, go to a few Bible Studies, attend church and think we have it nailed. Then you read this and see how much more is available and needs to be pursued.

Challenging
His teaching is well grounded in scripture and challenges one to consider their personal walk with Jesus.
