Disclaimer religious book
Boring dialogue and a heavy dose of religion. This book should really have a disclaimer that it's so religion heavy. Additionally I don't know where this "historical" aspect comes into play.... it's based in current day.

The story is great, the narrator got it wrong
I've read this Lori Wick book several times and thought I'd enjoy the audiobook too. I did for the most part but was really disappointed by the narrators choice to interpret the way the lead characters' deaf father would speak. My sister is a sign language interpreter with a Masters in deaf studies who agreed that this is offensive and unnecessary. Not to mention the fact that he became deaf in childhood so would not speak like that anyway. Other than that I enjoyed it.

great book
Im disappointed at the narrator. I think it would have been so much nicer to have a female and male narrator for this book, it being a romance book. The woman narrating the man just doesnt do it justice and its off-puttingly unromantic! I've read the book and I'd much prefer to read it rather than listen to it. The narrator doesnt put enough energy into the parts when people speak, therefore it is quite monotone.

Missing an entire chapter?!?!?
This book is missing the final chapter. I have the physical copy at home, and this book skips the entire last chapter; going straight to the epilogue. It’s ridiculous that no one caught the mistake. I will be returning the book, at least until they fix this.
The narrator and story are actually both fine, but I have it all as low a rating as I could, to bring this to the attention of Audible quality control, and to forewarn other listeners.

A favorite book, disappointing audible
First I’ve read the actual book and loved it. I was looking for something fun that I could listen to while doing other things. The entire end of the book is missing from this audible edition. That was frustrating. I mean how do you skip such a huge part of the book. I’m disappointed I paid for a partial book. I hope they fix it.
Overall the narration was good. The only issue I had was the portrayal of Shelby’s father. The reader was attempting to sound like someone who is hearing impaired would speak and partially succeeded however she spoke so slowly and over-enunciating making him sound retarded which was annoying as he was a very well spoken man in the book. I was offended for all hearing impaired people. Additionally, the narrator speaks very slowly anytime someone was signing. People sign as fast as “normal” people speak so slowing the speech just ended up annoying me. Thankfully those parts were small or I’d wouldn’t have been able to finish the book.

Horrible narration!!
I love this book and had purchased it from North Star audio books years ago!! It was an amazing story but sadly after repeated playing of my cassettes they wore out and I couldn’t replace them. I was so excited to see this story finally on audible. One of the characters in this story is deaf and the narrator tries to mimic the deaf intonation. It totally ruined the audio version for me.

Annoying!
This is a wonderful story that I love but whose idea was it to read it this way? There is a deaf character in the story. It is perfectly acceptable to just address this in the story but why did the narrator have to disguise her voice to try and sound like someone who is deaf? It is annoying and - in my opinion - disrespectful.

Sappy But Sweet
I’ve read a hard copy of this book several times and now listened to the audiobook. It’s a little sappy but I come back to it every few years because it’s such a sweet story. The narration was a little hard to listen to. A few times I could’ve sworn the book was being read by a computer and I actually had to turn the speed up slightly to make it feel more conversational. All in all, though, I recommend it as a good book to cozy up with on a rainy weekend.

Love the Book but the Narration...
This is one of my favorite stories. I have read it countless times over the years. I bought the recording to listen to as I'm driving, but found I didn't love the narration. Her voice has a robotic quality to it that almost takes away from the story. It isn't the worst ever, but it isn't good either.
