Maybe a good start

Really high level, very little depth. Also very focused on USA and the skim over other nations, not very balanced in that respect.

Surface level info for Lad Dads

If you know anything about life, you already know everything in this book.

I worry about future fathers who might find the advice here useful. Advice such as “don’t worry that you can’t breastfeed, you can always bring the baby to the mother for feeding”, “bringing home a baby is totally different from a new PlayStation or LED TV, there no manual” and “if your partner is feeling flabby, remind of her that pregnancy is beautiful”.

Dads of the world, read something else: maybe something that’s aimed more at modern day parenting such as “The good enough parent” by the School of Life” or “give birth like a feminist” by Milli Hill”. Ignore this book that should have been called “the pregnancy guide for lads who know nothing about relationships or women”.

Good help

It is very difficult to know what to expect when becoming a first time father and this book is a very helpful guide as it goes through multiple challenging scenarios that will give you a good idea of how to handle it. I recommend this to fathers...

a nice little book

i enjoyed this book as it gave me some good encouragement on the mindset and what to expect as an expecting farther. however i would of liked more details on the health and safety aspects on looking after the baby as well as tips and tricks. also PDF images would of been great to have as a visual aid for some things which this book didnt provide. overall its a nice encouraging book, but definitely lacks in giving you the in depth knowledge of things im looking to learn about.

A good book for fathers

We as men are very proud of being a father and playing the role of dads. And as the world evolves, we are more involved in the upbringing of our children, and the taking care of our households. This book has helped me to become better at being a father.

Great overall

I found this book really helpful at giving a good overview of what to expect. I mean my partner is still expecting so I might revise this review in a few months. Despite the American tone, 95% of the content is applicable to someone in the UK with a second at the end for the NHS. All of the scans, checks and types of appointments are covered as well as milestone in the pregnancy journey, as well as what to expect when bringing baby home.
