Story
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing. But it's the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute take a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant Nobel-prize-nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Story
The inhabitants of the Inventor's Housing Estate keep themselves to themselves. There are the friendly 'Hellos' when commutes coincide and the odd cheeky eye roll when the wine bottles clank in number seven's wheelie bin, but it's not exactly Ramsay Street. The dilapidated community centre is no longer the beating heart of the estate that Becky remembers from her childhood. So the new pottery class she's helped set up feels like a fresh start. And not just for her.

Frankie doesn't believe in true love. As relationships expert at popular magazine Stylife, she has learnt that dating disasters are far more common than happy-ever-afters. So when she is tasked to find out if meet cutes can work in real life, she is up for the challenge—but whether it's being a damsel in distress with a flat tyre or spilling coffee over a stranger, she isn't convinced this can really lead to love. But little does Frankie know that the ultimate meet-cute opportunity is just around the corner.

Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
Nobody ever talks to strangers on the train. It's a rule. But what would happen if they did?
Every day, Iona Iverson travels to work by train. Every day, she sees the same people, making assumptions about them, and even giving them nicknames. But they never speak. Obviously.
Then one morning, Smart-But-Sexist-Surbiton chokes on a grape right in front of Iona. Sanjay, a nurse, steps up to help and saves his life.
This single event starts a chain reaction, and an eclectic group of people, with almost nothing in common except their commute, discover that talking to strangers on the train might be uncomfortable and awkward, but it can challenge all of their assumptions and prejudices, and could even transform their life.

Heart warming
Like her first novel this is a heartwarming story. Like watching a Richard Curtis movie in your head.
Sadly what slightly spoilt it for me was the narration. Well executed and paced but the voices were all too posh and it felt slightly unrealistic.
Feel good uncomplicated listen.
