Summary

Best-selling mystery/thriller author James Hunt brings you a collection of his highest rated mysteries! These have been boxed together for the first time! That's four book series totaling 12 novels!

Death Notes

The body count in Baltimore is rising, and the weight of those lives rest on Homicide Detective Adila Cooper's shoulders. It's only a matter of time before the killer strikes again, and the sands of the hour glass have already started sifting away.

Deadly Webs

When a child goes missing the amount of resources that authorities use is substantial. Abduction cases are taken very seriously by all of the parties involved. None more so than by Chase Grant, a detective in Seattle's 18th precinct. The clock starts the moment he gets the call from a parent, and the first 12 hours are crucial. Every move counts, and every choice matters. If he missteps, then a child might not come home. But today was different. He got a call about a missing child. And then another, and another, and another....

Stolen

Trust holds a small town together. When times are tough you know you can lean on your neighbor for help. But when a political movement splits the town of Barta, North Dakota in half, and a young girl goes missing, the trust is broken. Who took Kaley Hayes?

Static

The thin thread holding the civilized world together has been severed. Millions of citizens have been thrust into the unknown, breeding fear into the minds and souls of those seeking to survive. Wren Burton, an architect from Chicago, has been engulfed by the chaotic aftermath of an EMP blast. Her family is injured. The enemy is unknown. And help is nowhere to be found.

Started well

They started well but I became progressively more irritated with “strong woman” theme. It is good to like the lead character in a story but I struggled at times. The stories were good but just let down a bit by the general demeanour of the heroins. I very rarely cannot finish a story but I had had enough. Perhaps if you come at this from a different perspective you will see it differently.

The last straw

I tried to stick with this until the end Just for the plot but I bailed out about halfway through because I couldn’t stand any more of it. To be fair, this is a compilation so there are various authors and readers involved and the remaining ones might possibly have been better. But so far both the writing and narration have been very poor. There were times when I did not know for certain whether the author or reader was at fault. The mispronunciations occurred so often that they felt like frequent hiccups. The last straw today was hearing a narrator say that a crack in the window “irradiated“ rather than “radiated“ from a bullet hole. I would rather throw away the remaining parts of the stories than be subjected to any more of this bad writing and imprecise narration.

Terrible

Really disappointed in this whining, over dramatic, implausible story. I have listened to audiobooks for decades and this one is the first I have been unable to finish. Do not waste a credit on this one.

I am happy with this purchase

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot is fast moving

Any additional comments?

I do not know what that other person is into but this collection is okay.

Good value

I got this series because of how long it was and only 1 credit. Overall good stories and good performance. One of the narrators did have a kinda annoying voice but you get used to it. Not my favorite audiobook set but if you need to fill lots of time it’s totally worth it.

Don't waste your credits

I couldn't even make it through the first series. The plot was ridiculous and the characters were overdone and unoriginal. The main character is a female Baltimore police detective and is written so poorly I honestly thought it was a spoof. Add to that a completely unbelievable plot line where the idea of police procedure is nonexistent (she is literally the lead detective on her own sister's kidnapping and is still running the investigation despite the FBI taking over the case?) and I couldn't listen any more. Narrator was ok, but highly over dramatic. I'll give her a break on that though because I think that had more to do with the writing.

sorry to say

This book is so lame, I can't even finish it. I spent my one credit I get a month on it and I wish I knew how to get my money back. For instance the main character has a suspect on parole and is trying to question him. The parole officer takes up for the suspect! He tells the cop she is harassing the guy! That is such crap I don't even know where to start. The whole story is convoluted!

This is a waste of time. The stories are fumbled and a few of the narrators are horrendous! Stay away

ok but I won't listen again

I was given this book for free from audiobook boom and asked to leave an unbiased review for the author and narrator. Book 1 – Death Notes I don’t know if it was the download from audible or the books actual production, but there were a few places where sentences were repeated. I am not liking much of James Hunt’s “mystery thriller” books. Too many inconsistencies for me. I thought the narrator was pretty good though. Deadly Web – I already left a review for this one in the Trapped Girls boxset. Static White Noise – If a small city/town was chosen as the site of the terrorist attack the story would have been more believable. The thugs in Chicago would have taken out a group of terrorists in less than 5 minutes.
