About this listen

You love your family. They make you feel safe. You trust them.

But should you…?

When fifteen-year-old Billy Wilkinson goes missing in the middle of the night, his mother, Claire, blames herself. She's not the only one. There isn't a single member of Billy's family that doesn't feel guilty. But the Wilkinsons are so used to keeping secrets from one another that it isn't until six months later, after an appeal for information goes horribly wrong, that the truth begins to surface.

Claire is sure of two things – that Billy is still alive and that her friends and family had nothing to do with his disappearance.

A mother's instinct is never wrong. Or is it?

Sometimes those closest to us are the ones with the most to hide…

With an Afterword read by the author, C.L. Taylor.

Interesting but not as paced as other CL Taylor

I liked this book but wasn’t as captivated as by others books by this author. The idea of a family torn apart by a missing child was well thought out and showed various strains and stresses. Worth a listen but not her most exciting work in my opinion.

not my favourite

I really just couldn't get into this one and didn't enjoy it as much as other books by Taylor. I found it hard to differentiate between characters and their actions so found it a bit confusing at times.

Gradually Gained Pace - Good Book

A slightly slow start as the characters were built, but a good book told mainly from the mother's perspective.
A gripping story, which unfolds to expose deception and tragedy. I could not stop listening and will look for more from this author in future.
Good narration kept the characters clear and pace of story flowing.

could not stoo listening

I bought this souley due to the narrator if i m being honest. I find her easy to listen to and she brings characters to life. She did not dissapoint and neither did the story.
When I first started to listen I found the text dialogues a bit irratating however they were pivotal to this story which was a real who dunnit.
i finished in two sittings. I literally couldn't stop listening.
