About this listen
Since the beginning of the 20th century, cancer rates have increased exponentially - now affecting almost 50 percent of the American population. Conventional treatment continues to rely on chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation to attack cancer cells. Yet research has repeatedly shown that 95 percent of cancer cases are directly linked to diet and lifestyle. The Metabolic Approach to Cancer is the audiobook we have been waiting for - it offers an innovative, metabolic-focused nutrition protocol that actually works.
Naturopathic integrative oncologist and cancer survivor Dr. Nasha Winters and nutrition therapist Jess Higgins Kelley have identified the 10 key elements of a person’s “terrain” (think of it as a topographical map of our body) that are crucial to preventing and managing cancer. Each of the terrain 10 elements - including epigenetics, the microbiome, the immune system, toxin exposures, and blood-sugar balance - is illuminated as it relates to the cancer process, then given a heavily researched and tested, nontoxic and metabolic, focused nutrition prescription.
The metabolic theory of cancer - that cancer is fueled by high-carbohydrate diets, not “bad” genetics - was introduced by Nobel Prize-laureate and scientist Otto Warburg in 1931. It has been largely disregarded by conventional oncology ever since. But this theory is resurging as a result of research showing incredible clinical outcomes when cancer cells are deprived of their primary fuel source (glucose).

Not surprisingly it also overlaps with all the science on longevity, diabetes, obesity etc. All the advice you follow from this book will benefit you, your family and friends.
PS. My friend died from Sepsis not cancer, after the doctors had taken a flamethrower to her immune system.

You have made a significant impact on my journey to fighting the oesophagus cancer I have recently been diagnosed with. I will be eternally grateful for everything I have learnt and I’m now applying from your book. I bought a hard copy, and have also been listening to it whilst out walking and gardening.
My recent diagnosis came like a violent earthquake, shaking every core element in my body and soul. After overcoming the shock, I decided to take control of my situation. Ignoring the advice given to me by the medical establishment to eat as much sugar, carbs and ice cream, I went on a journey to find the truth.
I have been telling everyone who wants to know about your book. It holds so much wisdom backed with evidence. It’s a powerhouse.
I will treasure it, and continue to listen to it - and read it over and over again - and course, continue to keep applying it to my life.
Thank you so much.
Eternally grateful.
Outstanding wisdom - a powerful book by two inspirational women.

I was looking for a more positive approach, with realistic and practical ways of making positive changes. It is way too pessimistic
I came away from this thinking that unless I hide away underground, away from an airport I am pretty much done for when it comes to cancer
One of the most negative books I have read
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
I do not recommend this book at all. It contains some science, and then takes huge leaps into the world of nonsense to back up their approach of avoiding toxins and eating a ketogenic diet to cure and/or avoid cancer risks.
It skates dangerously close to suggesting if only you’d eaten better you wouldn’t have cancer.
I made it to chapter 6 and when they started on toxins in vaccines I gave up.
Nonsense
