Summary
A brand new, funny and quirky story based on E.A. Wyke-Smith's classic, the inspiration for J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. A lost classic - updated in a more contemporary voice. A delightful tale of orphans tricked by an evil witch and rescued by the warm-hearted Snergs.
At the Sunny Bay Home for Superfluous and Accidentally Parentless Children, Pip and Flora are in trouble. Running away with their dog they discover the Marvellous Land of Snergs, a magical world of cinnamon bears and scrumptious feasts - but also one of vegan ogres, disgraced jesters and dastardly Kelps, with a villain dressed entirely in purple....
Soon their only friend is forgetful but lovable snerg, Gorbo. He will lead them home - if they can decide where home really is and if Gorbo can remember how to get there.

Marvellous and heartwarming adventure
"Parents should not be unkind to their children. Not if they want them to turn out right. It's hard to grow up good and charming and clever, if people that ought to know better make you feel the opposite instead." Flora, The Marvelous Land of Snergs.
marvellous and heartwarming adventure full of surprises and a couple of lessons for parents and the rest of us to learn.
I loved all the characters, it never got dull, I couldn't stop listening!! The narrator is also absolutely exceptional, bringing all the characters to life and the music makes the audiobook even more cute. Highly recommended!

Magic and Mystery
What a delightful modern fairytale, narrated so fabulously by the brilliant Stephen Fry ! I was captivated immediately and drawn hook line and sinker into the magical world of Pip, Flora , the Snergs and Kelps and all that surrounded them. Not only a super storyline but also with a much needed moral message to the reader, child or adult!

Wonderful wonderful wonderful
Stephen Fry lends a masterly narration to this charming magical and mischievous adventure story. I’ve never read the original, but my 10-yr-old daughter listens to this over and over. Highly recommended.

Fairly good story
I do not really know what I was expecting from the book but I was enticed by the fact that Stephen Fry was the narrator. It is a fairly good story but it did not become another beloved book that I would come back to over and over again.

Who or what should you believe?
Enjoyable story for any young child with some good life lessons. Misunderstandings, misrepresentation and misjudgments add to the twists and turns of the plot of course a happy ending. Entertainingly read and brought to life by Stephen Fry in his own inimitable way.
