About this listen

The Lost World is a classic adventure novel written by Arthur Conan Doyle. Professor George Edward Challenger, Edward Malone, Professor Summerlee, and Lord John Roxton, set out to explore a South America plateau where prehistoric animals, including dinosaurs still live. While investigating the lost world, they are attacked by pterodactyls at a swamp, narrowly miss being killed by dinosaurs, and are captured by a race of ape-men. While in the ape-men’s village, they find out there is a tribe of humans inhabiting the other side of the plateau with whom the ape-men are constantly at war.

I was lucky enough to have heard this book read by James Mason and I feel the reading was a great feel better. The story of this book has been the basis of many a film, all of which have been a disappointment, so the content was familiar to me. It will come as a surprise to some. There are no helicopters or any other vehicles like that.
To this edition of the tale I must say I found the voice a drone making the listening tiresome.

Lost indeed
