Summary
Ava's marriage has been a lie.
For the past five years her husband Mark has been squandering their money on gambling and dodgy deals that have amounted to nothing. Mark has left Ava and their daughter, Sophia, to fend for themselves with a mountain of debt and not as much as an explanation as to where he's gone or when he'll be back.
Just when Ava couldn't feel any lower, she receives the news that her grandfather has passed away. She is devastated as they were once very close. When Ava was a child, she used to spend her summers picking grapes on her grandfather's vineyard in Provence, before a rift between his daughters tore the family apart.
They hadn't seen each other for years, which is why Ava is shocked to learn her grandfather has left money to her sister, Olivia, but his entire vineyard, Chateau Montrose, to her.
What does Ava know about making wine?

Stereotyped Fun Read
I love Provence so the title caught my eye. With so much negativity around at the time I thought I would go for a bit of light escapism. The characters in the story are cardboard stereotypes but the book is written with a light comedy touch. All the villains and fools are men; now that is a surprise coming from a female author or maybe the norm. The reader has a lovely voice and the listen is fun. The author has avoided turning out soft porn to spice up the action. A good fun listen would make a light hearted TV film.

Fabulous!!
I was totally sucked in to this story in moments. The characters are very well-written and the romance of the story, Provence, the well thought out and researched plot points around the vineyard story were really believable. Absolutely loved it! Highly recommend for anyone who loves France!

The Little Vineyard in Provence
The Little Vineyard in Provence. I bought this book based on the one review on Audible. I have tried several times to read this book but so tired of hearing how weak this woman is. The main character finds her husband has been borrowing money over and over until eventually they lose their home. The wife ends up sleeping on her friends couch. The husband moves in with a young woman he works with. Their grown daughter blames the mother who does not tell the daughter the truth. The wife inherits a winery in Provence and immediately goes to tell the husband until her friend warns her to keep it quiet. However she sends him texts telling him she needs him. I doubt many women would be this pathetic. I have stopped at this point hopefully it can only get better from this point. I will probably try to read the remainder. But very disappointed.
