Summary
Immerse yourself in an Audible Original production of The Little Mermaid.
A magical retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale, narrated by singer-songwriter Leigh-Anne Pinnock. Produced in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, and featuring vocals from anaiis, Kersha Bailey, Sariah Rowe and Nadine Samuels, this is The Little Mermaid like you’ve never heard it before.
Deep beneath the ocean, there is a shimmering palace. Built of coral walls and windows of clearest amber, it is the kingdom of the merpeople. And one of these mermaids you might know well: she is the youngest, and is gifted with the most beautiful voice.
Unhappy with her life as a mermaid, she dreams of living on dry land. One day, on her birthday, she ascends to the surface to find a magnificent three-masted ship drifting in calm waters. There, amongst the passengers, she meets the brown-eyed prince.
To win his affection, the little mermaid sells a piece of herself—and is faced with a monumental choice.
So put on your headphones, close your eyes and join Leigh-Anne Pinnock on a journey to the depths of the ocean.
For younger listeners, parental guidance is advised.
Now available in Dolby Atmos on Audible.

Beautiful and unique
This is a gorgeous adaption, beautifully narrated and sung by Leigh-Anne Pinnock. This is more of a soundscape than simple storytelling, really immersive and completely unique. Would love to hear more audible originals like this!

Loved it!
I didn't know what to expect because I hadn't listened to the sample first, but I really enjoyed this. I knew the story of the little mermaid but I didn't know how it would be adapted. I thought the background music and sound added to the story. The narration was great as well. He storytelling was superb.

Loved everything about this
Not only is Leigh-Anne's narration beautiful, emotional and her voice sounds great, but the sound production, the songs and music are beautiful too. Loved listening to my first audiobook and the story fits perfectly at the end with the message of inspiration; it correlates with Leigh's career and it's just a beautiful cherry on top for this story. Loved it from beginning to end.
Congrats to the whole team for this wonderful project 🧜🏾♀️🌊

Best 43:57 mins of my life
The little mermaid is already my favorite princess so when I saw that Leighanne was narrating this I knew I had to come and listen. This is my first time listening to an audiobook and I enjoyed every second of it the music in the background is so nice and calming and I love some of the changes made from the story that I grown up with and Leighanne’s voice was very calming. I will be listening to this again and I hope that she does more narrating.

Real stinker
This was quite possibly one of the most boring “reimagining” I have come across. There seems to be a plethora of this garbage. Seems a lot of the authors and movie makers of the world are creatively bankrupt, instead of original we get rebaked classics

Pure Perfection
The Little Mermaid was the first film I remember watching, and the original Hans Christian Andersen story has always had a place in my heart. Listening to this performance by one of my favorite singers has sparked nostalgia. Whether you're a child or a grown adult in need of a calming tale, it is a must-listen.

Unexpected, but delighted
What I like the most about this retelling of a classic fairytale is the messaging in. I love how the narrator expressed to the reader, that, yes, it was her story. The little mermaid is a tale that many people misunderstand, because of a lot of the changes made to the storyline over the years. I love how the narrator cautions the reader to love yourself, and never trade in everything that you are for nothing. For those people who might be suffering from insecurity and inadequacy, might find hope and inspiration in this detail. Or at least the very last line of this tail. That was the thing that touched me. The most in the entire story, was the narration at the end.
