Summary

In an era of rapid growth of false religions worldwide, Christians need information they can trust. This comprehensive new edition of the leading book on cults will equip you - no matter your background - to understand and use biblical truth to counter false religions, including many that masquerade as mainstream Christianity.

Reflecting the developments in cults and world religions in recent years, this edition, updated by expert Jill Martin Rische (daughter of Walter Martin), gives you the authoritative information you need to know. As our culture becomes less and less outwardly Christian, awareness of the belief systems of those around us has never been more vital.

Accessible and reliable for everyone, whether you're a teacher, a pastor, or a regular church attender, The Kingdom of the Cults remains the go-to reference book on this crucial topic.

It's missing 12 hours of content.

I have the previous verison of this audiobook and saw that there was a new version out so I bought it. The problem is this new 6th edition is missing nearly 12 hours of content. I am very disappointed. The edition before this is about 39 hours long and this newest version, the 6th edition is about 27 hours and 30 minutes. I noticed this as soon as I started listening to the book because the time left was so short. I looked through the chapters and it appears this version is missing the appendix as well as some other information. The print version of this book and the previous audio book edition of this book are amazing and a must read. But, this sixth edition audio book is absolutely disappointing due to the fact it is missing around 12 hours of information.

meh

Struggled through this one. The narrator sounded robotic, almost like he wasn't a real person but a computer. The info was interesting, but not terribly exciting, so the narrator's voice didn't help at all

Very informative. Rather robotic narration

The whole topic grieved my spirit. To recognize that our world is fraught with those who call themselves Christian but are not disturbed me to my core. Then to realize that the true Christian church is at fault for this growth further disturbed me. It raised the question in my mind does the spread of Christianity reported around the world include these so called Christians? This book provides an awesome foundation for anyone who is interested in apologetics and I highly recommended it for the ground work it has laid for me personally. Some portions were very difficult for me to deal with spiritually due to the the nature of the topic and how the organization has twisted scriptures to meet their ideology. I plan to listen to this book again and again with an emphasis on following up with the scriptures mentioned for each group to strengthen my own apologetic skills. We must defend our faith and work to bring our brothers and sisters back to the true gospel.

7th day Adventist

Where is the 7th day Adventist in this audiobook? And how do one find the difference cults one by one?

Awesome.

Many people in the reviews are complaining. (They’re probably cult members) and all of their complains are surface level and silly. I would push you to review the negative reviews. And try to find a real attempt at attacking the author. You will find shallow hollow claims.

Christ is God.

A ton of information

But worth the time invested, very informative with a great amount of true scripture, as well as reference from the other side!

The audio voice is awful!

An otherwise definitive book that accurately discusses the cults doctrine vs orthodox Christianity almost butchered by the robotic voice reader. PLEASE pay a voice actor or AI to mimic Martins voice and read with the same passion and convictions he spoke with.

Pot, meet kettle

This is now more the “definitive work on cults” than it is a Christian cookbook.
If you don’t find it obscene that a person completely convinced that the only reason these groups are cults at all is because they are Christians in a different way than he is than I offer this little nugget:
~’They believe in multiple almighty gods, which we know is impossible as the Bible states there is only one God.’
Yeah! Get you some of that.

Great book

Good book every Christian should read it. Even if you’ve been a Christian for a long time this is a great book to read.
