Summary
The Joy and Light Bus Company is the latest instalment in the beloved number one Ladies' Detective Agency series from best-selling author Alexander McCall Smith.
Mma Ramotswe knows she is very lucky indeed. She has a loving family, good friends and a thriving business doing what she enjoys most - helping people. But the latest mystery she is called upon to solve is distinctly trickier than it initially appears, and, of course, there's plenty to handle in her personal life between Charlie and his new bride and Mma Makutsi and her talking shoes.
In the end, Mma Ramotswe's patience and common sense will win out, and, without a doubt, all will be the better for it.

Great storyline. Relaxing read.
Having read all 22 books of the series I can definitely say this one is among my favourites. Same witty and charming characters with two excellent storylines.

Another lovely visit to Botswana
It's always lovely to check in on the lives of all of the wonderful characters in this series of books. Having listened to these since the series started, it feels like checking in with old friends.
The stories are always gentle and relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable to listen to.
Adjacent Andoh does a wonderful job of the characterisation each time too.

A return to form
I have been a long term fan of Mma Ramotswe but had drifted away from the books however this one was just perfect!

Superb, just superb
Beautifully written, and beautifully read. A delight throughout. Also one of those rare readings that sounds the same as the written books do in my head! :)

Pure delight
Alexander McCall Smith never disappoints, particularly when he writes about the glorious ladies of the Number One Ladies Detective Agency.
Spending time in their company lifts the spirits and reassures one that the old verities still hold true and give hope to us all.
Oh to spend an afternoon in their company with a cup of red bush tea.

Another Beautiful Visit With Beloved Mma Ramotswe
How can one go wrong with exquisite narration of an excellent story under the Botswana skies? The story reminded me of a nasty family member who partially bankrupted us with his foolish scheme and my words unheeded by my late father.
Grab a cup of Bush tea and get comfortable.

He's still bringing it. And so is Andoah.
Another one every bit as good as the other ones. Not so much Charlie and Queenie Queenie this time, but some new characters and more permutations on the leitmotifs of talking shoes, detective Bibles with American accents and round flashing spectacles as well as tea and fatcakes.
I award this series 97%

difficult to listen to couldn't finish
I couldn't finish this book because of the way it's been narrated it sounds very sharp and cringey to my ears...
