Summary

The Inheritance - A novel of a house haunted by an ancient evil. A tale of lies, envy, and curses spanning generations.

Mike Gray is still reeling from the sudden death of his father when he inherits Willow House, his father’s childhood home. Keen to move out of the city, Mike decides to move his young family to the small, quaint town of Fairview. But not all is right at Willow House. There are dark forces at work, which threaten to destroy what remains of the Gray family. The curse at the heart of Willow House has lain dormant for decades, but is about to be reawakened and unleashed.

A Good Story!

An enjoyable story of generational trauma. Spooky enough to keep you hooked. Although for the life of me, i just cant understand why the narrator who is British would read the first person narrative in his native accent but switch to an American accent for the speech only.

If you can get over this you'll enjoy this book.

Scary and satisfying

Absolutely gripping, I was on tenterhooks pretty much all the way through. Narrator was excellent, just right for this abominable tale!

Chilling!

I really enjoyed both story and narration. A proper haunted house story. Christopher Weeks read wonderfully as usual.

Jarring narration

Okay story, but difficult listen due to choice of narrator. Spoken in English accent but when a character spoke southern American accent. Story wasn’t scary but had potential. Just missed the mark.

A good listen

An entertaining story and well narrated. Well rounded character descriptions which you feel you can get to know. I would recommend this book.

Great story

loved it not too over the too pretty creepy. I would have preferred a slightly difficult ending but still good.

Enjoyable haunted house story

I really enjoyed this, a solid 'family haunted in new house' story. Well written, though not particularly original (but what is, these days?)
I'm disappointed that I don't see anything else written by the author as I'd love to see more of their work.
I also enjoyed the narration.

Good story if you can get past the narration

OK so why does a story set in America have a British narrator? I couldn’t get past that to begin with but glad I stuck with it as story is pretty decent for a free listen. Character development is excellent and there’s narrator is very strong, although wrong accent! Very predictable but an enjoying listen.
