Summary
The perfect recipe for hygge: make a hot chocolate, draw the curtains, snuggle under a blanket and read your way to happiness!
It's autumn in Yulethorpe and everyone is gloomy. It's cold, drizzly and the skies are permagrey. The last shop on the high street - an adorable little toy shop - has just shut its doors. Everything is going wrong for Yulethorpe this autumn. Until Clara Kristensen arrives.
Clara is on holiday but she can see the potential in the pretty town, so she rolls up her sleeves and sets to work. Things are looking up until Joe comes to Yulethorpe to find out exactly what is going on with his mother's shop. Joe is Very Busy and Important in the City and very sure that Clara is up to no good. Surely no one would work this hard just for the fun of it?
Can a man who answers emails at 3 a. m. learn to appreciate the slower, happier, hygge things in life - naps, candles, good friends and maybe even falling in love?

Very average
Very predictable and bland story with an annoying bird character that did nothing but irritate me. I’m usually not so negative and in fact I love hygge but just not this book.

A good story and performance
Enjoyed this the first time round in my kindle library.
A nice feel good story with engaging characters that you can actually care what happens to.
This audiobook version at a very good price as a kindle offer was a good revisit to the story and very well read by Rosie Jones.

Meh
Got half way through and gave up. There’s nothing endearing or cozy about the characters. I didn’t connect with any of them as they were so one dimensional Clara’s ( the main character) whole personality is about being Danish in small town England.

A Hallmark Christmas Movie For Your Ears
So cute. Short and sweet and lovely. I feel very full of hygge! If you love consuming happy endings and holiday cheer this is for you.

Excessive profanity took the “Hygge’ out of this.
The cover and the name led me to believe this would be a lite, fun, little Christmas story but the excessive use of the F-bomb and other profanity took away my expectations. It could have been better with some editing. Sorry but no hygge here.

My favorite
The Hygge Holiday has brought me intense pleasure in the numerous times I've listened to the audible book. The soft, expressive voice of the narrator is a perfect companion to a story of wonder, optimism and creativity. My last listen will surely not be my last listen. Wish there were more like it. I'm on the lookout.

Sweet and predictable
An entertaining holiday read similar to a Hallmark movie with Hygge lifestyle tips. Enjoyable but I would have rather not have used a $16 credit on it.

Loved it!
Great narration for this story. The development of the characters was well paced. The humor behind the travel to Spain was clever and laugh out loud -worthy. A slowly developing romance wrapped in a woman hungry for belonging. Hungry, but not desperate made the story so very sweet.
