Summary

From the people who brought you Netflix's Unbelievable.

One juror changed the verdict. What if she was wrong?

Ten years ago we made a decision together....

Fifteen-year-old Jessica Silver, heiress to a billion-dollar fortune, vanishes on her way home from school. Her teacher, Bobby Nock, is the prime suspect. It's an open and shut case for the prosecution and a quick conviction seems all but guaranteed.

Until Maya Seale, a young woman on the jury, persuades the rest of the jurors to vote not guilty: a controversial decision that will change all of their lives forever.

Ten years later, one of the jurors is found dead and Maya is the prime suspect.

The real killer could be any of the other 10 jurors. Is Maya being forced to pay the price for her decision all those years ago?

Excellent Court Room Drama

I really enjoyed this book it was a good combination of psychological thriller and courtroom drama. The unraveling of the story ten years apart gave it depth and built up the background to the characters. The narrative was fast-paced and relevant and kept me gripped I found it difficult o pause as I just wanted to get to the end. There is a very good twist which I did not see coming. I really enjoyed the narrator who had a really good voice for the main character.

Irritating

Reasonable story but contrived ending. And what irritated me was the narration - the narrator emphasised word endings so much that once heard, were constantly heard

Gave up

I tried really hard to like this book as the premise seem something that was in my normal range. However after 2to3 hours I gave up. The narration didn’t really help as some of the voices were quite strange. I think basically the premise of the story was very good but the telling of it was a bit boring sorry

Did not live up to expectation

This novel is disjointed. Far too drawn out. And a very disappointing ending. The narrator's version of a male voice is laughable and irritating
