Summary
Kit McMahon lives in the small Irish town of Lough Glass, a place where nothing changes - until the day Kit's mother disappears and Kit is haunted by the memory of her mother, alone at the kitchen table, tears streaming down her face.
Now Kit, too, has secrets: of the night she discovered a letter and burned it, unopened. The night her mother was lost. The night everything changed forever....

"Maeve Binchy really knows what makes women tick. She crystallises their hopes, dreams and passions in her novels and now she has done it again in The Glass Lake...a marvellous read." (Daily Mirror)

LOVED it - but beware, misses a couple of key paragraphs at the end!
Like previous reviewer - was a bit miffed at sudden ending, and thought narration seemed to ‘jump’. Sure enough, just spent a £5 on the kindle version, and this version misses a couple of key paragraphs about what happens to everyone at the end!!! Most frustrating! Especially as it’s such an AMAZING book!

Shame the ending was missing
I liked this book very much but was so disappointed the ending was ruined by missing paragraphs. Why hasn’t this been put right after other people have already commented on this previously. Surely Audible has been made aware of this error!

missing chunks in this recording.
I love this book and have heard it many times in the past. this version of it has missing chunks, particularly at the end which is really disappointing. If you didn't know the story, the ending would make no sense.

The Glass Lake
A thoroughly enjoyable story, beautifully narrated by Kate Binchy. The story keeps you enthralled to the very end and is set in a heartening community.

Wonderfully Rich Tapestry
Kate Binchy brings this wonderfully evocative tale to life in such realistic narration which beautifully enhances the original story. An interesting and enthralling story that will keep the listener entertained for many hours. Well worth the purchase.

Text missing-a travesty
One of my favourite Maeve Binchy books of all time, waited ages for it to be available as audiobook. Sadly the narration is not the best, especially reproducing London/ English accents and hugely disappointing to find a chunk of story missing at the end!

Tried twice
I just couldn't do it. I tried. For the most part I enjoyed the narration, until it got to the part of the young girls. It made me cringe everytime she voiced any of the 3 girls.
I do enjoy Maeve Binchy's books, but this one couldn't keep me interested.
