Summary

Thirteen years ago, Olivia Adams went missing. Now she's back...or is she?

When six-year-old Olivia Adams disappeared from her back garden, the small community of Stoneridge was thrown into turmoil. How could a child vanish in the middle of a cozy English village?

Thirteen years on and Olivia is back. Her mother is convinced it's her but not everyone is sure. If this is the missing girl, then where has she been - and what happened to her on that sunny afternoon?

If she's an imposter, then who would be bold enough to try to fool a child's own mother - and why?

Then there are those who would rather Olivia stayed missing. The past is the past and some secrets must remain buried.

An absorbing and gripping psychological thriller that will have you holding your breath until the final minute.

The Girl Who Came Back

10 stars if possible. A super narration with, brilliant mystery story right to the end. I thought I'd worked it out but was slightly wrong. Good, it beat me, so that makes the brilliance of it. ✔️👍

Brilliantly believable story with a satisfying end

This is one of those books that really captivated me. The narration was excellent which allowed the story to flow. There was enough intrigue from the protagonist to keep the reader guessing. Enjoyed it immensely.

Slower pace than some of the writer's other books

I liked the story although found that it felt much more leisurely paced than some of the other books by the same author and the book didn't really keep you guessing as much as it could've done.

Very predictable

From early on the ‘twist ‘ was predictable. Think I only Kept going with the story because one of the reviews it said that you would never guess the twist, so I thought I must be wrong. It was so obvious.
Really wish I hadn’t bothered wasting so much of my life on this book.

Great book

Really enjoyed this book, although I guessed who she was early on, there was still plenty of twists at the end.

enjoyable

I did enjoy this book but I was able to work parts of it out before the clues came, but it didn't spoil the stories and it kept me interested all the way through . I was glad I bought it

Completely fine, but not the usual brilliance of Wilkinson

I usually love abductions and coming back stories, but the plot here was too easy to guess way too early on and lacked the usual snarky sense of humour Wilkinson usually displays and I’ve gotten to love.

An absolutely average story, great to fall asleep to and or do chores, as even if you miss large chunks it doesn’t really matter.

Slow

Great sample, but book was so slow. Skipped the last couple of chapters because I was beginning to lose my patience
