Summary
Space: the biggest geopolitical story of the coming century—new from the multi-million-copy international bestselling author of Prisoners of Geography.
Spy satellites orbiting the moon. Space metals worth more than most countries’ GDP. People on Mars within the next ten years.
This isn’t science fiction. It’s astropolitics.
Humans are heading up and out, and we’re taking our power struggles with us. Soon, what happens in space will shape human history as much the mountains, rivers and seas have on Earth. It’s no coincidence that Russia, China and the USA are leading the way. The next fifty years will change the face of global politics.
In this gripping book, bestselling author Tim Marshall lays bare the new geopolitical realities to show how we got here and where we’re going, covering the new space race; great-power rivalry; technology; economics; war; and what it means for all of us down here on Earth. Written with all the insight and wit that have made Marshall the UK’s most popular writer on geopolitics, this is the essential book on power, politics and the future of humanity.

A fascinating book
like all of Marshall's books this is packed full of wit, insightfulness and an interesting look at international relations played out in an as of yet unfulfilled environment. A must read for anybody interested in the world around them.

The future of Geography, thought provoking.
Hasn’t disappointed, worried maybe!
As normal hundreds of twists and turns we humans could bring to bare on each other. I loved it.

Interesting book but can hear a sticky mouth
On headphones you hear in too much clarity that the narrator as a sticky or perhaps just a lot of moisture in his mouth. I find it very off putting personally. I can’t listen to this on headphones. Poor quality in my opinion but and interesting book.

The unknown
I’ve never been that interested in space but being military and knowing the future is in space this was the perfect introduction, I feel like I can hold an articulate account if questioned by a general, thank you Tim.

Insightful and easy to listen to
Another blunder by Tim Marshall and a book/audio book I am recommending of his.
I couldn’t stop listening to it and learning about the space race. Where we’ve been, where we are now and where we are going.

Good, but you have to wait for the last two chapters
There’s a lot of going over China, USA and Russia in depth, it starts to feel like he’s reading Wikipedia pages.
But it all comes together nice for the last two chapters. I just wish those chapters were the topic for the whole thing.

Absolutely loved it
I knew a little about how space would influence humanity but never knew how many advances we have already made! It’s fantastic and scary how we are on the cusp of great things, but how humans can easily destroy ourselves. Loved the narration and the jokes inserted in there. Overall an enjoyable and informative listen. Thank you!
