About this listen

In the sun-drenched Sicilian hills, four women learn the lessons of a lifetime at the Food of Love Cookery School.

In a remote Sicilian mountain town, four women arrive at a cookery school, each at a turning point in their lives.

Moll is a foodie and an exhausted working mum on the holiday of a lifetime. Tricia, a top London lawyer is taking a break from the demands of her job and her family. Valerie, consumed by grief following the death of her partner, is trying to figure out how to live a life without him. And recently divorced Poppy has come to Sicily to learn about the place that her grandfather was born before emigrating to Australia.

Luca Amore runs the school, using the recipes passed down to him by generations of Amore women. He expects this course to be much like all the others - but as sparks fly, friendships are made and secrets are shared. And for each of them nothing will ever be the same.

Great Narrator however....

This Audiobook will probably work better as a print book.
Chapters are very long so you really need time when your going to listen to it. They are each about an hour long.
The story is set in Sciliy and is painted beautifully by a wonderful narrator. The story itself is a lovely one with characters development over time slowly. A few twists and turns here and there.
Unless you have an hour to listen to each chapter, then might not be worth trying as an audiobook. I found it hard settle into it if I stopped mid chapter and it led me to not finishing the book in over a month, which is long for me.

Brilliant!

As with all of Nicky Pellegrino's books I really enjoyed this . I've enjoyed every one. As with any great book you very Quickly find yourself totally absorbed and transported to another place ,In this case Sicily ,with great characters . Really nicely read and total escapism ! Loved it! Im just really sorry that I've now listened to all of Nickys books! Hopefully there will be another soon.

Girly story for food lovers

Not a lot of depth but entertaining enough. Good background info on the culinary side.
Not sure about the accents and age groups of the characters.

Fantastic book

I really loved this book as I do of all the books she has written. I can completely lose myself in her books. They are so descriptive you feel like you know the characters personally. I never want led this to end, in fact when I am feeling down I re-listen to her books.
Also the narrator is excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this book.

Very enjoyable

If you could sum up The Food of Love Cookery School in three words, what would they be?

Perfect holiday read.

What other book might you compare The Food of Love Cookery School to, and why?

Enchanted April, completely different era and part of Italy, but only because of the 4 women soul searching and blossoming in Italy. Wonderfully descriptive and captivating, felt I was feeling the sun, smelling the smells and tasting the food.

Which character – as performed by Harriet Carmichael – was your favourite?

If Harriet Carmichael performed all the characters she is extremely talented - Luca Amore.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Lost and found in Sicily.

Any additional comments?

No.

bad vocals...ok story

a mildly sweet story of an italian love affair ruined by dreadful accents I'm afraid.

Smell the coffee. A nice summer read.

I'm a fan of Nicky Pellegrino and she hasn't disappointed me with this book. A lovely story of four women who travel to Italy for a cookery school vacation. Each of them, in their own right, have their reasons for being there. Some sad, some freeing, some life changing. If you want an easy to listen to girlie 'read', this will do the trick. You can smell the food as you listen to the recipes being created.
