A new beginning...

A final battle for the fate of humankind...

A future on the edge of infinity...

Colonel Mitchell "Ares" Williams has been through it all, the story of his life an eternity in the making. He's brought the starship Goliath back home in a shrewd maneuver that could turn the tide of a war that he has fought beyond forever, restoring those that were lost and giving him a second chance to change the fate of humankind.

A chance to destroy the Tetron for good.

But as Mitchell soon discovers, the more things have stayed the same, the more they've changed, and he isn't the only one who's been waiting for this time to come...

Really enjoyed this especially the devious Watson

Watson keeps returning like a proper nemesis and messing up the teams plans to get rid of him for good ... good series of books .. looking for similar stories to pass the quiet hrs .

Bit of a lame end to otherwise good series

Any additional comments?

If you have got this far in the series yourself, then its worth continuing for closure. I really liked the previous books but I wished the author had taken a different tact with the ending.

The next part of this review in might be considered a spoiler - although there are no details, it gives a sense as to how the story progresses - so please stop reading if you want to experience the book in its pure form. Happy reading :)

Anyway, having got this far in the series, my expectation for a good and clever resolution to the saga was high (again which is probably why I was disappointed).

My problem is that the 'enemy' always seemed one step ahead of anything our heroes could do, resulting in a continual stream of false victories and bouts of hopelessness. That's fine in itself, and actually makes you eager to find out how the tables get turned.

Unfortunately the frustration just continues all the way right to the end when the final resolution just comes down to what I would regard as pure luck.
Some might like this, and if the author is after some irony in this then fine - but for me it was not very satisfying and the closure just seemed rushed.

I'm impressed

The war eternal series started strong. I deeply enjoyed book 1 to 4, but must say 5 and 6 were lacking. I was beginning to loose faith in the way the story was progressing. I must say tho, book 7 is my absolute favorite, and the ending left me in awe. Totally recommend this series. if you have the patience to go through the 2 filler books. I say the series is totally worth it. ps. this is my very first review I write on this app, hope it was helpful.

Good listen

Loved the series, although this audiobook did have some repeating sentences around chapter 39 but no big deal.

Once more into the breach

The book was similar to past books but with different twists. While I was a bit disappointed with the book 6, I found I actually enjoyed this book, except for the ending. Without giving away any spoilers, the ending left a few open questions. Questions that either presages a book 8 or simply means they will remain unanswered.

Jeffrey Kafer's narration caliber is so good that it is always amazing to hear him mimic such a variety of voices which are obvious as to their gender and even having different dialects.

Excellent

Thrilling to the end. First three books were free so I happily used credits for the other 4.

Not as good as previous entries in the series

I like the author, and I like a lot of his writing, but the series ending feels a bit like the last season of Lost. It falls apart at the end.

The last half of this book felt tortured and forced.

if you got this far you might as well jump in.

narrator was great in the others but not in this one. he probably new the ending. which was like someone coming into the room and saying hey guys wrap this up I got a dentist appointment to get to. But truthfully I really liked this book up to halfway through chapter 51. i probably will not be reading any more from this author after this.

The last of one amazing series

You know, I’m. It going to get into the technology or theoretical accuracy of the science or whatever it is that Super Nerds sully ding science FICTION books on. All I will say is that I listened to all of these books, one after the other. Did t matter if it was 0100 in the morning or 1300 in the afternoon. I didn’t take another step, felt like I didn’t blink another eye until I purchased the next in this series. Have I enjoyed other science fiction books or series more than this? I honestly don’t know. What I do know is that there was never a minute I regretted or arm chair QB’d the author or narrator. It was absolutely and thoroughly an amazing auditory experience. I loved the characters, many were very well developed, the evil dude was totally evil (and whack) the good were mostly good except when they weren’t. ;-). I would recommend this series to anyone who appreciates a well written book that had perfect continuity from one book to the next. Highly recommended on all marks! Jeffrey Kafer is truly remarkable in his tradecraft. I’m now going yo see if this author has anything else I haven’t read!

Worth Your Time & Credits

Lot of fun and kept me engaged and awake during long drives. Can’t wait to hear more from this author and narrator.
