Another winner from Mr Forsyth
Brilliantly conceived. Expertly woven tale of an assassin and his detailed plan. Quite different from the film. This book is compelling, as you’ll discover when you begin to read or listen to it.

I read this years ago. enjoyed listening to it. great plot, story well told.

Edge of the seat stuff!
The story of an assassination attempt on President Charles de Gaulle after he gave independence to Algeria. I loved the fact that it's set between London and across Europe in 1963, and the fact that it is somewhat dated added to it's appear for me! It had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through and although we knew the President was never assassinated, he lived to a ripe age and died a home some years later it was still exciting! Great narration added to the appeal and all in all a great audiobook!

Gripping.
First foray in to the World of Frederick Forsyth and very enjoyable. Kept me in the garden for hours which is always a good sign.

Utterly amazing
Would you listen to The Day of the Jackal again? Why?
Yes - after a decent interval and when the memory of the detail has faded ever so slightly
Who was your favorite character and why?
The Jackal because he should have got away with it
Have you listened to any of David Rintoul’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Yes though I can't recall the names. But this is a tour de force
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No because that would be too tiring and, anyway, delayed gratification is a good idea

First book to ever increase my heart rate
Brilliant book. Some really tense well crafted and believable moments. The tension is palpable. Incredibly well woven story and full of very believable and probably very accurate details!
