Story
Women are rarely cold-blooded killers. But when famous philanthropist Hugo Fletcher is found dead, there is no doubt in anybody's mind that the killer is a woman. And it is clear from the precision of the planning that this was no crime of passion. It was an execution. The victim was revered the world over for his charitable work with trafficked Eastern European prostitutes, and as at least one of these girls is missing, Detective Chief Inspector Tom Douglas is certain that there has to be a connection.

Summary
At long last, a final reckoning is coming for Frieda Klein....
In a north London high street, a runaway vehicle crashes to a halt. The man in the driving seat was murdered a week earlier. On Hampstead Heath, a bonfire blazes: in the flames lies the next victim. As autumn leaves fall, a serial killer runs amok in the capital, playing games with the police. The death toll is rising fast, and the investigation is floundering. But this is no ordinary killer, and every new victim is intended as a message to just one woman. Because psychologist Frieda Klein is in hiding. And someone is coming to find her....

such a disappoint
I feel really let down by this last book, I really think now that they should have stopped at Friday, as the last 3 books have been very bitty and was certainly a stretch from the original story. I think Nicci French has done better than this. a predictable ending I had to listen as i had bought the previous 7 but thank goodness its finished now. Who knew there was an 8 day week

Absolute nonsense!
I liked the early books in this series but the later ones have grown more and more far fetched. I know with crime stories you need to ‘suspend your disbelief’ but really this one is just beyond my ability to do that!
Lola’s character was quite ridiculous anyway but made even more so through the characterisation from the narrator. A shame but I think this book needs to bring the Frieda Klein stories to a close.

Disappointing
I had anticipated this book for some months but unfortunately it was disappointing, storyline was confused and a lot of it felt like padding and unnecessary page filling rather than true storytelling and living up to the expectations I had from previous books. Felt a little let down with this, narrated well but storyline wasn’t strong.

What An Anticlimax!
I enjoyed all the books in the Frieda Klein series and could not wait for the audio book of the great finale to be released. What an anticlimax! At first I thought I had downloaded the wrong title. The detailed description of the van crashing into the shop was devoid of any connection to the Friday Klein storyline and was not a significant event in the overall plot. By the time familiar characters emerged I was both frustrated and resigned to the fact that this was not going to be a compelling read. There would be a series of incidents and auxiliary characters that would just serve as padding and eventually the much anticipated confrontation between Frieda and Dean would take place. The conclusion was one of confusion as far as I'm concered. On a positive note, the story is over and the good triumphed over evil. Why complain?

All a bit unlikely
Well that’s the end of the series with a promise that Freda get involved in no further investigations. Let’s hope she keeps the promise. Why? Oh why? So many murders with so little motivation, so little plot, so little meaning. What are we left with at the end of it all...nothing but silence.

What a disappinting finale to the series.
Don't waste your money on this. The series started well but went down hill mid way. Nicci French should have put an end to Frieda Klein on Thursday rather than letting her struggle on till Sunday and beyond Such a shame. What was a winning formula became spread far too thin.

Phenomenal book!
What an extraordinary and highly skilful finale to this Frieda Klein series. Nicci French authors are truly phenomenal. Congratulations on a masterful layered and gripping story.
Beth Chalmers is a fabulous narrator. She has a clear relaxed voice and moves seamlessly between the characters as she adopts their individual voices. A joy to listen to her ease and flow. . I highly recommend this series
A delightful experience Thank you to all concerned Susan
