At least, that’s what their husbands think.

The cursed women of Chadwick must set things straight! 

In 19th-century America, making sense of mysterious events often perplexed citizens of the small Southern town of Juniper, South Carolina. Scientific and psychological explanations for those phenomena would eventually evolve over the centuries, but in the 1800s, Americans were left to their own devices. 

Especially the three Chadwick households. 

The Chadwicks were especially prone to visions, hallucinations, and ghost sightings. As simple as their everyday lives were, they looked to the fantastical to interpret their existence.

Sometimes, they looked to God for an explanation. Other times, they blamed the wily devil for their misfortunes. 

At still other times, they blamed spells cast by invisible sorcerers.

Brothers Laurence, Brodie, and Angus Chadwick lost their parents shortly after sailing from England to the New World. Each young man, in turn, would meet the woman of his dreams. The handsome men would pursue those women, and as well-positioned gentlemen of the community, they were successful in their pursuits.

Yet, marriage for the trio did not always translate to happiness.

Laurence’s wife would give birth to a “freak not quite human”. Brodie’s wife, to twins whose idea of sport would ultimately prove deadly. And the third, Guinevere, Angus’ wife, barren until one fortuitous night of wine and laudanum.

Lacey. Fiona. Guinevere. Beautiful, intelligent, sensitive creatures all.

And yet, despite their noble virtues, the three Chadwick women are cursed, it seems, for reasons only the occult can provide.
