Summary
Jill and Carrie - both married with teenage children - meet one day during Jill's lunch break at a local park. Soon a friendship is forged. A friendship that deepens with each visit.

Sad ending - could not finish
No happy ever after ending. I got to 1/2 way and read other reviews and realised it was not going to end well. So I stopped after the couple got together. In my universe they ended up happy ever after and if I don't listen to the rest of the story then it is true for me. Beautifully read by Abby Craden (as per) and a lovely story - bar the sad ending.

Happy doesn’t always have an ever after
What a fabulous story of love, Gerri Hill demonstrating her skill as a storyteller. How this must resonate with so many people. So addictive even though you can see the end! Loved it, suffers the disappointment but wouldn’t have missed it!

Box of Tissues at the ready
The beginning was a give away for the end but Geri Hill so beautifully writes the romance between two women. Characters were relatable and the trials in-between made for a page turner or almost one off listen as I couldn't put it down. As a reader/listener you go through all of the emotions with the characters and there are not many books where I'm so connected to the characters that I literally smile, laugh and cry as the story unfolds.
Narration was wonderful and Abby's inflections and tone worked to bring to life the story.
Truly a lovely pairing of author and narrator.
