Summary

Though they seem to have everything, Hannah Parks has watched her husband, Dallin, become increasingly distant. Her hope is buoyed when the couple decides to start a family, but what Dallin reveals in his sleep one night rocks Hannah to her core. Black indeed

This is a story of love gone wrong, not for the faint of heart and not with any kindness. A man's love for money costs him his wife, and then his love of his bastard child. Of a damaged daughter desperate for a safe place which she assumed would be inside her marriage. Of a sister's love for a violent father and their status quo, and coveting her sister's "successful, perfect" life.

It is also a journey where Hanna wakes up to all her realities, Her vacillations (bordering on the stupid) and need for comfort and closure result in very bleak consequences. Hanna is ultimately a cold woman, emotionally frozen in time by events.

The writer knows how to crank up tension and drama but not passion.

The narration was excellent.

There is no HEA just HFN in this book. If I could undo selecting this book I would as it left me so depressed.
