I think the West heeded only the short term measure stated in the paper. It has maintain military superiority, but seems to ignore the differences in civilization that exists between them (West) and "the other" civilizations. It seems the West has never been more so determined than it is now, to force-feed its values to the rest of the world. and this move can only - as it already has in the Arab world -, lead to conflict.
