About this listen
Where Everyone Is Welcome But A Few Never Go Home
Nothing bad ever happens in the quiet little town of Hope. However, when the circus rolls in one misty morning in late October, everyone decides to go see what they have. Even the Jorgenson family and their 8 year old son Noah head on down to the circus big top, but when it is time to leave he is nowhere to be found. With the help of Sheriff Langley, his parents search the premises, but they don't find him. Now that it is closing time, they are forced to leave in hopes that he will come home. Will they ever find him and all the other children that have gone missing from other towns?
Find out in The Circus, if what lies beneath the shiny exterior is something darker and far worse than you could have ever thought possible. A short holiday novella.

Not a strong one
Personally i didn't like the way it wss layered out the premise of the storty are fantastic that can't be knocked at all and if it was put in a different direction and a few more characters that would be great honesty is the best policy so my honest opinion is that thos could of been amazing but just it falls short

A quick thrill, let down slightly by the narrator
I found The Circus to be a short, enjoyable read. Killer Klowns From Outer Space has been a firm favourite movie of mine for a long time, and this novella is unsurprisingly reminiscent of that in many ways. However, rather than the fun, zany tone of the film, The Circus feels a little more serious, with the circus entities much more malevolent. The ending wraps things up nicely, and left me wanting to know what could happen next - always a good sign following a short story.
The writing frequently seemed a little stilted to me, perhaps too formal, or not flowing as well as it could. However, I'm not sure if this is an issue from the author, or more likely from the audiobook narrator. While I thought he did a good job voicing characters, important as there are a number introduced quickly in this book, the general narration could at times feel a little awkward.
If you're looking for a quick story to read, with some creepy moments and kills you can picture, this is well worth an hour or two of your time - especially if you're afraid of clowns.

A very good listen
This is a good listen and is entertaining enough. As others have said it is short but then again it's a novella. To my mind it could have been expanded to 3 or 4 hours and still be gripping throughout. The characters are well defined and likeable but again we could have learned more about them, overall the book seemed a bit rushed. Harry Roger Williams III's narration was superb and brought out the sinister side of the book well. A recommended listen.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review.

Short and evil
This is an honest review in exchange for a free download. So much death in a short novella. Interesting characters with all their different lives playing out really keeps your attention. Although the narrator did well with the all the characters, for me, his reading was a bit flat and didn’t bring the story to life.

ok
I liked the overall concept of the story, but to me it felt a bit rushed, maybe to keep it to a novella. I would have liked a lot more details
To begin with I wasn't keen on the narrator, but after a while, I think he actually quite suited the role.

Excellent story, if short, it will scare you,
I enjoyed this. It was very suspenseful, very detailed and it fulfilled it's purpose as a horror, it freaked me out.
I thought it was too short though given there were a lot of substories involved in some of the characters and the potentially exciting sub plots could have had more detail. However, if you are a horror fan, I say go right ahead and check this out. Clowns are scary for a reason and LaBelle has utilised this stigma perfectly.
The narration was outstanding as well, very well presented.

Disappointing
Sorry to say that I didn't think much of this audiobook. The idea is very good and the clowns do add a touch of menace to it. The cover is quite creepy too. However I thought there were several areas that either didn't make sense or weren't followed up or explained, for example what was the marker pen incident about? A lot of detail seemed to skipped over or rushed which may have been expanded if this were a novel rather than a novella. I actually found some of the writing a little juvenile.
I also found the dialogue very stilted and stiff with none of the usual abreviations that one would expect in day to day speech though whether that was in part due to the narrator or simply the way the story is written I couldn't be sure. Narration was ok but not great.
I feel a bit bad about giving this only 2 stars as the author was kind enough to give me a free copy but I promised an honest review and I can't justify rating it higher than that. Of course this is just my opinion but I was disappointed with this audiobook.

Great short horror
This was a lovely short horror, my only complaint is that I would love it so much longer as there seemed to be so much more than can work. Loved the cover definitely put out the vibes and where the story was going to go.
The narration worked well, after I got used to it.
