A great book!
A really enjoyable book. Enough stars for the litrpg element to be clear but not so many as to cause annoyance.
The story progresses nice and fast but leaves it open ended enough to to show that there is a lot more to come.
The only thing that I felt was a tiny bit underwhelming was the narration, still really enjoyed it I just felt like it left a little to be desired. However, it was still good and was not a deal breaker for the book whatsoever.
Overall a very enjoyable book and I recommend.

Interesting mechanics and sci-fi setting work well
On the whole gamelit/litrpg books often tend more towards the fantasy side of things rather than sci-fi, but this one opts for the latter instead and works well with a combination of some solid world-building and interesting mechanics for the power system the characters utilise. The author opts for a lighter touch when it comes to the stats side of things, so this book also works just fine if you are just looking for some entertaining sci-fi too.
The performance of the narrator works well overall with the main character's tone being ideal, although perhaps some of the supporting cast could be a little more distinctive.
Overall, a promising start to this series and I'll be looking out for subsequent ones in the future.

Great Story
This was a great story only thing was is I didn’t know it was an RPG type of audiobook. ( not that it bothered me ) This was the first time reading this type of book and only noticed it was a lite version of an RPG when it showed all the characteristics of the person and the numbers associated with them but not full blown stats every time something happened.
The story flowed perfectly and knowing it was part of a series I knew it would possibly be about building up the world and characters which it does, I’ve already got the 2nd audiobook so looking forward to listening to more from this author.
The narration was perfect and you could differentiate between the characters no problem and it helped the flow of the story
Highly recommend if you’re into RPG type books

Always look on the Bright side of life
I would describe this as LitRPG lite as wwwwwwthere is little emphasis on stats and as for growth going from too week to stand to standing against an invasion force in a few levels is a little bewildering. However the story flows well enough and has a few twists and turns.
It is well read with easy to differentiate characters.
I can only guess the series will continue by the broken body growing into power that has been forced into it.
Hoping that the flips from it's impossible to it's done with noo explaination are avoided going forwarded, but I will keep on with the series.
Overall it wasn't too bad.

An Intriguing Story
This audiobook, although what some would call short, packs an awful lot into it. I'll try not to add spoilers so will try and be vague where possible.
The story begins with Ryan receiving some devastating news about his wife, when he arrives at the hospital is when things get interesting. We find out that not all is at it seems with Ryan and he ends up being transported into another world in the body of an enslaved and weak man. He makes new connections but hasn't forgotten what has happened, and whilst training and forging stronger connections with others, it is discovered that he's kind of a big deal.
The storytelling was great and instead of the main character either being an overpowered trainee, Ryan (or Ty as he is known in the alternate world) has to learn it all over again due to being in such a weakened state as well as helping others learn their full potential.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and will definitely be completing the series so I hope Alex continues to expand this universe. I also need to say that Steve Campbell did an excellent narration.

Promising beginnings
Really strong concept. I feel the premise has a lot of potential and hope that it gets explored further. The characters are interesting and I want to learn more about them, too. Essentially, I want more. The narration is expertly done and adds to the story.

Couldn’t put it down.
Audiobooks usually take me a while to get through, I’ll listen to them an hour at a time. But I shot-gunned this one, staying up late to hear the entire story. Masterfully done, Alex on the story, and Steve for making the characters so real that I got completely lost in it.

First in a new series and it packs a punch
This is a great addition to the science fiction, gamelit, LITRPG, game world genre. We have a character in our world who shouldn’t really be here. He left his game world to come to ours and live a normal life. That is made impossible when old enemies and allies surface and drag his life here to ruin. Forced back into his old world he finds many changes have taken place and that he now just start over in a rather precarious position in a body not yet ready or able to handle the power that his knowledge and his past brings with it. New alliances are formed and battles are joined. Well written and narrated and this promises to be a very good series with much room to grow and many histories to return to. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

Yes... But No
I want to like this story and I do but the reason I have to give it 2 stars is for the Gaps, over floor of non information and the lead MC
The story takes place within 3-4 weeks and within those weeks we get no information of what's really going on other than the MC making a whoopsie and needing help over and over again.
There's a lot of information given to us that doesn't makes sense without more information that's never given, example [[Spoiler warning]] at the beginning its said the MC is being tracked by his enemies but its never explained how or when. And then later in the story when it's suddenly discovered he's being tracked by a parasite in his head it's not explained HOW. The Mc has an entirely new body a body that was literally a corpse so when in between the transfer of his mind did the villains get his non occupied corpse body and put a tracker in it.
The last problem is the MC it is stated that he's a THOUSAND years old but acts like a child. He was supposedly at the pinnacle of strength known throughout all of space over a millennium old but is surprised by every small show of strength every character does. You'd think with that age and power he'd be more calm and collected i know his wife died but the thing is it's not even mentioned by him after chapter 2, his only goal is to "get stronger" but doesn't mention the reason he agreed to it.

Great Start to a Series
I enjoyed the heck out of The Bright Lord. I went into it pretty blind, I saw that it was narrated by a narrator I really like and the story at a very high level seemed like it was up by alley (I try not to read the full synopsis so I can go into the book blind). But this one surprised me. It had me stuck to my seat waiting to see what happened next.
Now, this one will be hard to review without spoiling anything, but the training scenes along with those following just after (where he tells certain people) followed by more and more people finding or figuring it out were really what made this special. I think trying to learn things again (when you’ve forgotten more than anyone can train you) was interesting too.
Knowles does a great job writing both a story that flowed and one that I didn’t want to stop reading, but they also did a great job writing characters that I cared about. Ryan was awesome, but the people that he pairs up with along the way really made this book fun.
Throw in the great narration by Steve Campbell and you have an audiobook that I absolutely flew through. One that if you’re looking for something new to try, I recommend grabbing this one. I can’t wait to see where this series is going to go.

Starting over is hard
THE BRIGHT LORD is a fascinating and strange story about a man named Ryan Hart who is living an ordinary life on Earth before he is transported to a reality where he was once the most powerful hero in the world. However, the process requires him to go back from being a massively powerful hero to an enslaved weakling. I found this book to be quite entertaining and enjoyed it a great deal but I was a little confused about the nature of the fantasy world. Is it meant to be a digital game or a fantasy world as well. I admit I'm not too familiar with LITRPG as a whole so it might be unique to the genre. Otherwise, I had a huge amount of fun and will be reading the rest.
I read the audiobook I should note and want to say the narrator was fantastic.

This was alot of fun.
So Alex Knowles did a really good job with this book even more so because this is a bit of a shorter book what's impressive about that is even though its a bit shorter he was still able to tell the story that he wanted to tell without all the repetitive and unneeded fluff that a lot of authors put in their books to make them longer. I also genuinely enjoyed the way he he told the story instead of the main character learning everything he was kind of teaching the supporting roles it was a nice change of pace and was excellently executed I will definitely be checking out the second book.
