An Enchanting Tale
What did you love best about The Black Star of Kingston?
How absolutely enchanting it was, this book is wonderful for children and adults alike. It has true heroes who face great odds and have to make tough choices. These characters are easy to relate to and you will get lost in the story.
What about Eric Fritzius’s performance did you like?
He was wonderful in giving each character their own life and style. It was easy to get carried away with the story.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did laugh out loud a few times :)
Any additional comments?
This is a great family story or a personal read. All ages will love it and it will give you something to talk about, think about and play for a long time to come. You will not look at a rabbit the same way again, you will smile.

Definitely going on my list of favorites to read again.
I love this series. For me, it takes its place with the Redwall series and Watership Down as a classic.
The characters are varied. The villains are frightening and easy to hate. The heroes are brave, but still flawed. They are all realistic and stay with me after the story ends.
There is some violence in this story, so it may not be suitable for very young children or those who are sensitive. But the violence is not graphic in its descriptions, which I appreciate since that sort of thing gives me nightmares even at my advanced age of 58.
And the story ends with such hope that it left me uplifted and longing for the next book. My biggest problem with this series is that I can’t afford them all at once and it will be torture to wait for the next one.
I recommend this book, especially for adults who should read some stories with definite good guys and bad guys in our world of grey.

We liked to back story to Green Ember!
This series has captivated our family from my wife and I to our 17 year old son. Our fourth grader says, "Please write more!" You are a true storyteller S.D. Smith. Thank you.

My kids love it!
All four of my kids enjoyed this “prequel” to The Green Ember books. It’s well written and has really fantastic themes. My younger 2 (6&8, boy & girl) especially love these. They listen to all of S.D. Smith’s books over and over again.

Shorter prequel
Shorter prequel. Does not require reading the Green Ember first. Looking forward to next in series.

Can't wait for the sequel!
We have listened to The Green Ember and were sucked right in to the story. This prequel was very intriguing to learn the 'back story' and now we look forward to the sequel. S.D. Smith, write on!

Adventure!
Any additional comments?
A wonderful background piece for The Green Ember Series. Its short length is a perfect fit for car rides of a few hours, and it fills in the history behind the battles in The Green Ember. A good book for the whole family.

Best author ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really like S D smith! He is the best author in the world! I cannot wait until Ember Falls comes out! They should make a movie out of his books. However, I liked Joel Clarkson better than Eric Fritzuse (I might not have spelled his name right) I am a kid. So those adults can't say what my feeling are, I am telling you right now that my real feeling are I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!! I say the same thing for the Green Ember too!!!!!!!
