Perfect conclusion to the trilogy

I really enjoyed the Remnant Chronicles, the first book took a bit of getting into but the second book was absolutely fantastic and this one ties the story up perfectly. The performance is great and the actors really brought the characters to life. I would definitely recommend this series, stick with it if you struggle with book one!

Not enough hours in the day

Only reason I put this down was to sleep and to go to work (I was tempted to phone in sick so I didn't have to go in and could listen to the book, but in the end went in begrudgingly) There was times I worried Mary was steering the story to go a way that I would hate it to go but she pulled me back in and the end was great :) loved it!!! (especially the last 5 minutes :) )

this series is truly amazing. the plot is thorough and gripping, the characters are fleshed-out, and the narration is flawless; intense and intoxicating, I honestly couldn't ask for more in a book.

A Love story in a spiritual realm of adventure.

Totally loved it! Beautiful story of hope and love and faith and adventure. Twists and turns that were gripping and exciting, set in a world of swords, honour and women of substance.

Ending Left Me Feeling Horrible

Where does The Beauty of Darkness rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In terms of narrators, it was very good. I felt on edge and the intensity of emotions throughout.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Very unhappy. If an author writes characters in a way that you grow to love them and want happiness for them, then the reader should get that pay off. The very ending and last chapter even, left me feeling sad and almost empty because it is not what I wanted for the main characters. I wanted more and I wanted to see a bigger glimpse of the future.

What does Emily Rankin and full cast bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Raw emotion, stronger character development.

Any additional comments?

Again, I would rather write my own ending for this story than have the one I got. There is a better way to end it.

Ugh Why is she like this

I loved Lei in previous books but now she acts like a short sited child who throws temper tantrums without thinking about the long term consequences. I was annoyed many times with the protagonist. I feel like she regressed in her characters growth . Instead of being a strong woman she has somehow turned into an overly emotional girl

things are to complicated

the story had it's high points but everything was done in a very complicated way and the big bad guy was not very intimidating.

Great story and LOVED the narrators

I was pulled right into this story and it really never let me go. My only complaint was as much as I loved the characters, i felt that it was always up to the men to prove their love and loyalty. At no point, did Leah ever compromise . I feel as many times as R chased after her and sacrificed for her that just once it should have come from her. Great story!

Infuriating heroine

This book about killed me to read. I liked the protagonist in the other books and hated her in this one. Ugh! So disappointing. Stupid stupid decisions and the whole "girls can do whatever boys can do" idea was pushed and pushed until it was so unbelievable and bad. The ending...seriously?

Overall, nice trilogy.

I preferred book 1 and 2 in the trilogy. They were shorter and more action packed, the story was moving along faster. In this 3rd installment, I got bored very fast. The book is over 18 hours long and the length is really unjustified considering what happens in the book. I still think it's a nice story and I liked the conclusion of the story for every character, but it is not a story that deserves 18 hours to be told. 12 hours like the previous installments would have been more suitable. It took me about a month to listen to this book, much more than it usually takes me. It's a bit disappointing, which is why I could not give this book full marks. I still recommend book 1 and 2, I hope you enjoy book 3 more than I did.

I was so disappointed....

I was so disappointed with this trilogy overall. The first book for me was just meh but because it ended in a cliffhanger had to find out more. FYI the writer tried to create a love triangle but it was an epic fail from book one cause there was a clear luv interest. Therefore in book 2 I just felt sorry for the other guy who had to wait till the bare end of book 3 to find some happiness.... smh
But overall my biggest beef with this series is the author’s depiction of who a strong woman is supposed to be or what shapes her. When I say EPIC FAIL smh it was bad I wanted to connect with Lia but most of the time she came across as an arrogant lil twit who didn’t think for a second about jeopardizing lives to get what she felt was needed. Don’t get me wrong I admired the attempt to portray a strong female character but the author needed to make her character flow not have her as basically an #&&. You can be a strong brave vulnerable female leader without coming off as being asinine. As for her luv the poor schmuck smh I felt bad for him because I thought Lia should have been on meds smh. Their arguments were great though. I like the potential of the book but the delivery needed work. One more thing....18 hours really why!! There was no need for each book to be sooooo long my gosh what a waste of words..... I recommend with caution for the above.
